Melbourne - World’s Most Liveable City
After being nominated as the world’s most liveable city for the fourth year in a row, I thought what better subject to showcase in my new time-lapse short film than Melbourne itself.
For the past five months I have been exploring the city once a week (when the weather was co-operating) to capture all these scenes. I wanted to present the parts of Melbourne that stood out to me and bring life to the images using time-lapse photography.
Well over 20,000 images were shot. Many hours walking through-out the city carrying heavy camera equipment, and countless hours in editing time (thrashing my 13inch Macbook pro to its limits), were spent just to make this project come together. I have never worked so hard on a project & I’m extremely proud of what I have made. I really do hope you enjoy the video.
A special shout-out goes to Matt from Photosentinel for the support and the use of an Emotimo TB3.

Also thanks to Eureka Skydeck for the passes to shoot some shots above Melbourne! The view from up there was truly amazing!

tobagotb10 British Columbia is province, the biggest city there, Vancouver, is hardly affordable. It's considered one of the most expensive cities in North America and the world due to so many rich Asian billionaires and millionaires buying up property there. Melbourne is also expensive, but they have a better job market than Vancouver and salaries/wages are much higher on average. Vancouver is also cloudy 90% of the time for about 8 months every year. Melbourne is known for unpredictable weather but it doesn't have weeks of perpetual cloudiness like Vancouver. Melbourne can get really hot sometimes but overall is moderately warm to moderately cool all year, Vancouver gets quite cold and the extra moisture in the air from the constant rain makes it feel even cooler. That whole region of North America is absolutely beautiful though. Melbourne has some decent looking beaches further out from the main city area but most other Australian cities have better beaches. There's nothing really like the beautiful forests that BC has. To see more green like that, you have to go to Tasmania or New Zealand.
Most livable city 7 years running. Say no more. Brilliant clip and amazing cinematography.
this is why I love melbourne most beautiful city ever

Look how fast Melbourne is growing it's amazing i live in Melbourne such a beautiful skyline
Melbourne makes me happy. Melbourne has been the most liveable city in the world for 7 years in a row now and I am very happy that my home state is a happy place and is known the most liveable city in the world. In geography at school we are learning about Melbourne and going deep into it's liveable features. I have travelled to China, Bali, Thailand, Fiji and about to go to New Caledonia and I always want to come back home because I love my country and my state and always think everyone here even the poor should feel lucky to be in such a great place.
I would like to be one of the few positive people on this post and say well done Daniel! I think this is a refreshing short film on Melbourne. And I guess if you don´t notice some of the well known architecture in this grand city by now, then you must be a superficial observer. Not everybody is going to agree that it´s the world´s most liveable city. That´s granted. But I can definitely say after living in Oslo, Norway for almost 7 years now. And having visited many cities both here in Europe and the US, Melbourne certainly does have a place amongst the top contenders. Thank you for sharing! There are Ànt Hills´all over the place. And no city anywhere is devoid of crime. Not sure what cities you living in. But if you find a perfect one, let us all in on the secret!

Oslo is a gerat city, but it's too cold and depressing in the winters. And there is not much to do. For most people, 70% of the time in Oslo is hardly 'liveable'.
I want to move to Melbourne 😭 My Dream City.

Couldn't stop, watched thrice. Just amazing.
WOW! Great work! You captured the lights and the energy beautifully.
Thanks for the beautiful video. It shows the streets that I have walked and places I have been to and seen when I was a foreign student from Samoa studying at Victoria University of Technology, Melbourne (both city and Footscray campuses). I love this place and I was very happy when I was there in the years 1996 and 1997 and also the year 2000. Missed this place very much as I now live in Auckland, New Zealand!
Great job Daniel! Keep up the good work mate, the video is amazing and so is this city!

Well done Daniel. Your hardwork paid off
Amazing video for an amazing city
This is gorgeous!!!!! l
Outstanding Daniel ! 👍😊
To those with such harsh words about Melbourne not being the worlds most liveable city, Melbourne won't stop you from going to your country of origin, or finding another city to live in, if you feel so strongly about it, do something to make a difference or leave, instead of whining. Theirs no credibility there, Ive lived in the UK and traveled the world, Melbourne is a wonderful city to live in.

AMAZING VIDEO!! can i use some of the footage in this film for my up coming project? really appreciate it
Nice video, but I've been watching a few of these now and none of them visit anywhere but the CBD, what about Brunswick, or Prahran, Fitzroy, some very popular and buzzing places?
Never been too this part of Melbourne
Great footage man. Would it trouble you if i could ask to use 30 seconds of this for my media project on travel?
Nice montage of a truely great city. However, as a long term resident I am somewhat surprised that Melbourne is often labelled above other cities as the "Worlds Most Liveable." There's simply not enough affordable living to accommodate its burgeoning population, nor are the roads sufficient enough to cope with traffic demand. And with all the (obstructive) construction taking place it will be at least five years before it can seriously be considered worthy of such an honourable title.
Nice work. How did u shot timelapse videos in height?Used drone?
