Southern Cross railway station is a major railway station in Docklands, Melbourne. It is on Spencer Street, between Collins Street and La Trobe Streets, at the western edge of the Melbourne Central Business District.

Never ever, the answer is NO !!!!!! Melbourne doesn’t have underground train system. Only Sydney have underground train systems in Australia.

Here's the information from Victoria's Big Build bigbuild.vic.gov.au Ongoing construction of The Metro Tunnel which is the biggest transformation of Melbourne's rail network since the City Loop opened in 1982. It includes twin 9km tunnel under Melbourne's CBD(Central Business District) with 5 new underground station. It is the first step towards a metro-style rail network with " turn up and go" train services similar to major cities such as London, New York and Singapore it will open in 2025.

Yes, Velocity 160 Diesel Multiple Units (DMUs), which are manufactured by Bombardier Transportation, operate on the V/Line in Australia. It is the highest-speed train in the V/Line fleet. Thanks for coming Dilumhimansa.
Melbourne's smelliest station, V/Line diesels idle and lack of ventilation exacerbate the situation, if I have to change or catch a train I always choose Flinders St, if possible. Should have got the trams to run into the station when redeveloped. This would have integrated passenger flow between trams and trains. As it is passengers have to cross the busy Spencer and possibly Burke Streets, delaying public transport and traffic. Moreover the Spencer St underpasses have been locked off!
