Meinl Percussion Cajon Drum Set Demo

Музыка

Shop Meinl Percussion products here: www.sweetwater.com/store/manu...
Hi drummers, this time out I'll be playing the Meinl Percussion Cajon Drum Set! Small acoustic gigs don't typically demand the sound of a full kit, and that's where the Meinl Cajon Drum Set can turn you into a hero. This 3-piece acoustic percussion set covers the big three - bass, snare, and hi-hats - and then some. The part of the kick drum is played by a traditional birch cajon without snares or strings plus a double-chain-drive cajon pedal for hands-free performance.
The included Mountable Cajon Snare is ideal for hand or stick playing, and it mounts to the same Low Hat Stand that holds the bundled HCS 13" hi-hats.
Thanks for watching - click the link below for even more info on the Meinl Percussion Cajon Drum Set!

I bought the cajon pedal a few months ago and loved it, despite not getting the chance to use it very much. My band only plays a few acoustic gigs a year and I can't practice in my apartment due to noise concerns. Anyway, I used the pedal at a gig a week after buying it and it was great. Loved it. A few months go by, it literally sits attached to the cajon in my living room, out of the way and purely decorative. Another acoustic gig comes up and I'm thrilled. We played for just over an hour. Remember: This was my SECOND TIME EVER using the cajon pedal. 3 songs into the set the cable snapped, rendering the pedal useless. $200 for 1 and 1/4 uses. I even have video of the gig wherein I have to revert to standard cajon playing since I lost the pedal and, thus, my mini-cajon drumkit was unplayable without losing bass drum/nuance. I messaged Meinl customer support to ask them what, if any recourse I had, and haven't heard back. That was about 3 months ago. I'm terribly disappointed in Meinl --I've loved their various percussion instruments for years and own several that I use for both acoustic gigs with the cajon (itself a Meinl instrument) and when playing my normal drumkit. But given the shoddy quality of this pedal and the apparent lack of concern from their customer service, I'll never buy another Meinl product. tl;dr -- Don't buy the Meinl cajon pedal. The cable is paper thin and will shear off after minimal (and normal) play.

You don't know how it is made. Yes, it's expensive for its compactness, but it probably isn't constructed in high numbers, making it more expensive. And cheap drumsets are generally coming from huge subcontractors in China. Making them a 100$ thing to be build. But you need workslaves and a neo capitalism colonial system in full power to be able to have this privilege. Just go to your drumshop and look for an us made drum, try to find Japanese or American hardware and some swiss cymbals on it. Look at the price... > this is the price of a drum without slavery.

Hi! Great video. I would like to ask if you´ve been able to play for more than five minutes without any maladjustments of the piece which connects the rotating axis of the right foot with the cable? Since the axis is a cylinder with no marks, the piece moves, no matter how tight you try to fix it with the provided key... I don´t know if it is a design problem or just my unit has some problem.

It's cool, but I kind of wish for a version of this with a bigger funk sound - like a bass cajon (with the front facing bass port, if possible) and a snare with more crack and sizzle. I don't want a loud kit. Even the portable "suitcase" kits are too loud. But I would like something with a fuller sound for funk, hip hop, drum & bass, etc. - not louder, but with more sustain. The sound of this kit is verrrry tight.
