Maybe just my opinion but I think Matt’s a show off and I think Tosin and Javier have let him show off to the detriment of the music. JoM was perfect because Matt was clearly just trying to play like the first album (Halpern ftw). They let Matt lose and Matt is playing ultra technical stuff that has no soul. Just my opinion.

When you learn drums like that it is muscle memory. You have that skill on tap. In regard to that, you will have a decent amount of time to allot to other areas since the instrument is already learned to a masterful extent (referring to Matt's ability). That would be my guess. Not to say playing like that doesn't and didn't require mass amounts of effort and creativity.

I've been getting bits and pieces of his lessons from his website and applying them while following his advice on keeping things fresh and authentic. The man is mad and highly articulating as a mastermind of the craft. As for Meinl, I'm curious what new Cymbals they're creating. Possibly next generation versions of their lineups? I have a couple secret cymbals that I think may be prototypes, and it looks like Matt may be already experimenting with his next Concept. In any case, Fuck Yeah! 🔥

I can appreciate that this is metal in 2022. Tosin looks like a beatnik poet. Matt is your hippie uncle. Javier fits the role of "good dad of 2 daughters". 😂 When their powers combine...pick your jaw up off the floor.

Those Meinls sounds so ridiculously good. If I ever get endorsed by Meinl, it would be pretty cheap for them, as I already a wide array of Byzances and Foundry Reserve. And damn, Matt, you really spanked the kickdrums here like a boss. Always enjoy your playing. Even live, you're a masterful beast, despite the arrangements being complex as f**k. Love the facial expressions in the end btw😎
