He has quickly become one of my favorite drummers. Very technical but everything he plays also seems attainable. And by god his cymbal choice is ridiculous. They all compliment each other and his playing so well.

@vonbeaver99 umm I think your definition of straightforward is a bit off mate. Don't tell other drummers trying to learn Jays pieces they're straightforward and get their hopes up. Its opposite of straightforward and its a challenge to Jay too. You can learn but it will take dedication, discipline, and time... and magical limb independence 🤣

Goodness. The best thing on the internet today. And no vocals and just feeling the song. Oh maaan thank youuuu.
and here i thought matt halpern had the most expressive drum faces. jay's grooving is so damn fun to watch

How does he manage to play these mind-bending rhythms and still be groovy as hell?
This song is so bloody hard to play! Been trying to dissect that part at 3:08 - The stack is playing in 7 over the top of whatever the hell that bass part is in. Blows my mind every time, incredible 😵💫
Damn... Jay's ability to come up with such tasty ghost and tom fills between every gaps of the guitar riff never cease to amaze me! Such an inspiration! 👏
For me it's the insane Time keeping on that hi hat pedal while just traveling the rest of the kit so masterfully! Jay is truly one of the most incredible modern drummers.
What I find phenomenal about Jay, other than his mind bending grooves, is the space he leaves between cymbal hits. Even though every snare and bass drum hits are precise and calculated, his cymbal sweeps are left to feeling and it lets the song breathe. He's a true master of his art.
Jay really has managed to carve out a distinct style among the sea of great djent drummers and that's very impressive.
I’m always looking forward for the drum honey, never gets old

This guy is the king of ghost notes and backbeat... his drum line is almost never a "straight line" and it's not boring to listen to, it's creative, he brings harmony to the cymbals! Esse cara é o rei das notas fantasmas e do contra tempo... a linha de bateria dele quase nunca é uma "linha reta" e não é chato de ouvir, é criativo, ele tira harmonia dos pratos!
I never anticipated a drumming video this much before.
Beautiful blend of melodic, musical, and technical playing.

Such a great song. Jay has this unique ability to just push and pull. Be powerful and then pull back. I had no idea there was a new album out until yesterday. It’s beautiful.
I will never get over the little dance between the drums and bass halfway through the song. To me it's more than a groovy beat, it feels like it fits between the context of the song / ending of the album. 10/10 performance! Love seeing how excited Jay is behind the kit!
I just want playthroughs of this quality for the entire album at this point.
Not a single hesitation or "oops was my hand supposed to go here" this video gets better every time I watch it.
Jay is an artist in the true sense of the word.
Loved those post tones

Every note is exactly where it's meant to be.
Such elegantly written parts! Beautiful to watch.
Lots of things to love about TesseracT, but Jay might be the top one.
Fav tune off the new LP just saw them live last month awesome show!
Jay was getting it in! Love his drumming!
Nobody does it like you, man, the Jedi Master of Drumming!
God damn! Jay is absolutelly fantastic! These cymbals are fantastic. But how flow he looks like during the play. The focus since 3:14 is so impressive! This is one of the best song of the WoB Album, better choice to close this amazing job! What a song!
Besides Jay's playing can everyone appreciate the beautiful sounds they cymbals produce! 🤘🤘
What a beautiful drum set, specially seen from above
Absolutely amazing drumming and amazing song
Simply outstanding. There's a great layered swing to this tune!
I just love it. Insanely groovy, everything just fits perfectly.
As a fellow drummer all these videos are pure awesomeness. Just saw them in Atlanta and of course an awesome show and Jay is absolutely one of my faves. One of the best in the world alongside Garstka, Halpern, Haake, Duplantier, Dailor, Carey, Harrison, Hoglan, Lombardo. Met Dan and Amos after and was hoping to meet Jay, but didn't want to be the irritating nuisance. Trying to cover War of Being now and what an absolute epic and incredibly hard to learn. 4 4 6 7. Thats what I wanted to say to him 😂

Saw Tesseract in Tampa, and can't help but feel Jay and Amos may well be one of the best rhythm sections in all of metal. And as a fellow drum nerd, I too know how challenging trying to learn and perform Tesseract can be. BTW, I don't think I would put Dailor in the same stratosphere as Garstka and Gavin Harrison and the others you mentioned. Dailor's vocabulary of fills is limited and overly repetitive in my eyes and ears, although I do enjoy Mastodon.

Very true. I love playing some of Brans stuff when feeling Mastodon like and getting in a good cardio workout, but nowhere near as mind bending to learn. I've been thinking about even taking some of Jay's classes I saw he has. He seems to be a great teacher too and helps with not making it feel so overwhelming at times.
So, so good. Beautiful creative parts, precision playing and production is gorgeous. Great work.
Most uplifting closer to an album I've heard in forever. Bravo!
Keep these coming!
The meinl drum honey bit always gets me hahah
Absolutely superb Jay

i love watching Jay play! 🖤 Extremely artistic and beautiful style of drumming and Sacrifice just became my favorite TesseracT Song. 🔥 Listening to this instumental version on repeat for hours already. Just wow! 🖤
favorite song from the album
Yet another perfect example of a drummer playing his role perfectly. This is so pleasing in every aspect. Sonically, rhythmically, and he is a stud to boot. LOL. Only complaint. No duck footage.
Wow, this is AMAZING! 😮
this is beyond a song a track!! this is an experience a 4 dimension audio eargasm!! and Jay playing is masterful!!

Great performance, wish I could leave this guy a tip.
Just sublime. I'd be happy to just play the song on drums minus the fills... just nail the timing and grooves. So much going on. The song is killer too.
Nice drumming...
EPIC!
I always imagine that his drums smile back at him.
