I think they were desperate for whatever help they could get, probably hoping the visit would put them into the news enough to get others to help the school. A washer and dryer were even promised so that the school could help children who needed clothing clean and from what I've been hearing, they never delivered.

It would be nice to hear ‘the other side’ of this situation from the principal/admin but the fact is the Harkles brazenly approached this school- during Covid- and promised a bunch of things that never came to fruition, so onus is on them for the explanations.

It’s bad enough to take money from a kid, but a poor kid? Like, you know these families have it pretty bad don’t you? It’s actually pathetic for a child to pay a grown woman married to a prince. Tacky, more than anything.

Let me get this straight…the publisher gave Megaliar 2000 books to give to schools and libraries (cost her nothing!). Then she requests a donation of $5 from the parents to her charity Archewell. So maybe she got $500 (100 parents at most) of which she keeps 95% for administration and 5% goes to charity. So bottom line she keeps $475 and $25 for charity. Such a generous soul don’t you think?

I don’t think the parents actually saw “the contract” - I think the parents were just given the equivalent of a permission slip and a request for $5 being told it was “for charity” and for their child to attend. That translates to them giving $5 each for the “privilege” of meeting Hank and Skank. I think only the school was given the formal document which is even worse imo. I expect it’s also a reason why this footage was not in the Netflix clown show.

Particularly at the height of Covid, when the contract said that the children couldn't sue if they caught Covid from them! Those children re highly unlikely to have health insurance to cover medical care. I also saw that H pushed children away, and not gently either. MM let her mask slip when faux hugging the kids. The reason this bothers me even more than the Invictus games is because these were CHILDREN, in one of, if not the most underprivileged school in that area who almost 100% rely on free lunches due to family income and whether the school really WANTED these two to be there, having anyone of their status despite not being working royals should have been a way to highlight the impoverished areas need and hopefully many people would donate to the school but Meghan made it all about her, again. If you’re a genuinely nice and good person who’s trying your best, you don’t need lawyers silencing people or fear bad press because there wouldn’t be any.

And what a waste of time for the staff, teachers and students at this school. Imagine the work the school must have done to prepare for these unnecessary visitors-the spiffing up, arranging their schedules, handpicking the “lucky” students who had to endure the reading, the letters home to the parents, the admin and legal details., the Covid precautions. Brittany, my father was a police officer in the 32. That school was in his beat. The crime is so bad in that area that the station is only a mile. It’s disgusting to me that the fake royal did this. On a side note my father brought dinner so many starving kids in that area. Wow some rotting tomato’s that the fake Royal “gifted” is absolutely the lowest of low!! I’m so mad. My father did more for those kids for over 20 years.

I work in the book industry. I can't believe that for 1 minute Random house/Penguin wouldn't have donated the books for free. Publishers/Bookstores give away tens of thousands of books every year to kids.

There should be someway this couple and their charity are made pay the money back to the parents and any expenses the school incurred.

They attended one of the poorest schools there where most of those children don't have fathers and they were read a book about fathers and kids. Then ghe school had to pay $5 towards the 'free' book. Then they wanted the school to buy mats for them to sit on and it looks like the kids all had new uniforms on. If you're doing a charity event you don't make demands to the people who are hosting you when you're multimillionaires! Now the daily mail have turned against them? It's about time. I hope everyone turns against them now and don't let mehan run roughshod over anyone anymore. All hail the whistle-blowers.

Harry is a guest in the USA and Markle by insisting everyone in America address her and him by their English titles are treading on thin ice. America is not the monarchy, we don't believe in titles and fought a war to get rid of Harry's ancestor King George III. Politically I feel Harry's days in the USA are numbered if he doesn't become a citizen and if he does he will have to renounce his title. They should have kept a low profile instead of prancing about like two self proclaimed monarchs in a country that is a republic. I think there was an assumption that it was a great honour to be hugged by "royalty". I really think that made them untouchable (so to speak!) I have a very silly story I just remembered. Back in the 1950s, the Duchess of Windsor (Wallis Simpson) made an appearance in our town, and during a walkabout she happened to stoop down and pet Skippy, our cocker spaniel. She was promptly renamed Skippy Duchess Burton! It became part of family legend that our dog was touched by greatness. Or so we thought.

Answer: it is not legal for the school to sign any documents on behalf of anyone under 18. (Detective here-43 years) the parents would have to be FULLY INFORMED and voluntarily sign a waiver of their child’s right to privacy. I do NOT believe any parent would sign such a document. There is no reason for anyone to ask a parent to do such an action. If they did sign and now wish to nullify the document, they can sue and state they were not fully informed if they were NOT represented by their own lawyers- the contract would be worthless. As a detective for over 40 years I’ve been involved in court cases, working with prosecutors and organized crime Detectives. This smacks of something the mob would pull on witnesses. Even for the 2 grifters, this is a new low. 🤡

It doesn't take all the receipts to tell a genuine charity act from a fake PR stunt.

The alternative to negativity is don’t behave badly.

Using children that way is so despicable. I believe it's against the law to record them too. Nutmeg reminds me of a bully on the playground taking the innocent kids money for her book sales. Evil woman.

It's got nothing to do with the royal family. Harry and Meghan are not representing our royal family or the United Kingdom. They are private citizens and are responsible for their own actions. I have a hard time understanding why they couldn’t bring there own rug and pillows and then themselves donate a large gift to the school rather than ask $5 from the students families. I don’t think the Harkles understand charity. Maybe when they run through their millions and have to sell their house and get actual jobs to pay the bills they will finally hit reality. The Royals live a privileged life but they put up with loss of privacy-can’t respond to negative and often false reports-give up a career they may have preferred-have people always around protecting them (have to be careful of crazies who may want instant notoriety)-and do their Royal duties promoting and attending charities and duties appointed which might not be that interesting to them but their good hearts do it willingly anyway. There are a number of Royal grandchildren who do not chose to be a working Royal as it’s just too confining. The Harkles are one and that’s fine but they seem to be more interested in promoting themselves than doing actual work.

We've had two high profile Royal visits at work recently and apart from giving name for security reasons nothing else was done apart from getting the cleaner in to make sure the place looked clean and tidy.!!!

The level of disgust I feel for them truly is through the roof. If this doesn't get him removed from Invictus...what will? While in his family he may have been charitable...with her...nope. I said this before: while he may have been born a royal, there is absolutely nothing royal about him now. She never was and never will be. Vile. They are vile. Their behavior, their attitudes but most importantly...their actions. Towards their family's and towards the public. How do grown "adults" treat children this way? All while demanding to be treated "like royalty"...what a farce they are. What an embarrassment. IMO

They don't care if they are outed. There is obviously nothing that humiliates or embarrasses those two. In their mind, any publicity (including all the bad) is good and keeps them relevant and in the news. The news and reporters love them, because it gives them plenty content to report about. It is a vicious circle that will never end! More people like the woman and man with the microphone at KC charity event need to start standing up to her and say "NO"! Or better yet, don't give them a platform or invite in the first place.

I found it disgusting that in the press release given to the press approval by the Sussex’s it stated that the Sussex’s gifted “hygiene products” to the kids .. so they go into a school in a deprived area .. who the hell takes hygiene products as gifts, it like saying ..”you smell” “you’re poor so you must have bad hygiene” “ here is some soap, wash your poor people armpits” .. that absolutely disgusted me. Books, treats, sports equipment and toys would have been really appreciated by the children , not shower gel and loo roll.

Thank you for your report on this cover-up! There was also the aspect that this event was done during covid & children were just back to school. Our world was tuned upside down, we had social distancing, could not visit loved ones in hospitals or nursing homes, parents weren't allowed into schools for anything; yet these two were allowed into this school, this safe space for children & they were basically told to perform for h&m. Children are normally taught not to hug strangers but were being told to hug h&m, be excited they were there. This was during a high stress time when children & adults were struggling mentally with covid (so much for their advocacy for mental health), all the rules & ramifications of the virus. It was disgusting behavior for h&m to put everyone through that emotional turmoil & increased everyones risk of getting covid or transmitting it to family members! All for their own benefit - netflix content!

@@CristaVillalever I agree. The principal, superintendent and school board need to answer as to why they were allowed access to those children. They have no credentials that would allow them inside a school. In my school (in Ohio) parents were not allowed inside the school for an entire year after we came back from covid lockdown. Even IEP meetings had to be held remotely since parents could not get inside the building!

Obviously they know their behavior is reprehensible. Why else have people sign something that specifically mentions negative remarks.

The beautiful Princess Catherine is so wonderful, so caring, kind and just gorgeous. The other two are our comical relief to the world.

In the photos and this clip of Catherine interacting with children at the Shape Us event, it is crystal clear that she is delighted to be there. She gently shakes the confetti over the playful little girl’s hand and is genuinely enjoying her. And everyone else is also beaming.

About discretion when doing charity, it occurs to me that none of us knew about Prince William donating 1 million pounds of his compensation from the media to the Invictus Games. It had only resurfaced when Har.y had talked about the damages paid to William - not the donation, mind you, oh no! - in his court case.

Absolutely agree. Even from before Meghan met Harry we have seen that Meghan's much proclaimed "charitable" endeavours have always been associated with benefits accruing to herself. Take for instance her compassionate trips to Botswana superficially presented as charitable acts of compassion but in actuality a fashion shoot opportunity or the occasion during Covid where the couple made a staged appearance delivering a scant number of meals to individuals in the community isolated in their homes . Then the ridiculous and pointless visit to a school to plant a few flowers with the children with the obligatory cameras as ever in attendance. What was that even about? I think, given what we now know, every visit was meticulously planned, choreographed and curated for one purpose and one purpose only - the promotion of Meghan's image as a humanitarian philanthropist. If nothing else it's a complete waste of other people's time and energy and a cynical attempt to deceive the American public into believing Meghan in particular is this caring and compassionate woman. Apart from cos playing Royals which presumably makes ex royal Harry feel better one has to ask if this is not a part of Meghan's plan to enter politics in the US? If so then I very much hope the American voting public acquaint themselves with Meghan's true character. Whilst honesty and integrity may be thin on the ground in politics electing Markle into any public office looks to be foolhardy in the extreme. The woman, in my opinion, is not only a self-seeking liar, she is also a charlatan and a fake.

Extremely well written and incisive. As for Meghan and politics…..we’ve already seen one blatant example of a narcissist, con man and compulsive liar in Trump. The thing with MM though is that whilst she can come across as extremely eloquent, in my personal opinion, that’s when she has used her acting talent to memorise a script: caught off guard she fumbles a fair bit. I also don’t think that she has the staying power to become a politician; her track record is that she flits from one thing to the next and also she doesn’t like glad handing the commoners, she has a need imo to always be rubbing shoulders with fame, wealth and glitter.

Brittany, you’re amazing! I especially love your reporting on other royal families in Europe. I grew up in Sweden and love the Swedish family. I’m the same age as the King’s youngest sister, Kristina. It just shows how time flies when they celebrate 50 years on the throne! I’ve met Victoria here in Melbourne when she came to promote Swedish manufacturers many years ago. I was introduced through a Swedish company where I worked. We had a stall at Federation Square and I was tidying up in the front when these gorgeous shoes stopped right next to me. I looked up and there was Victoria! I flew up and curtsied but she grabbed my elbow and said she was just a normal woman and I must not curtsied to her. A few days later I met her again and she called out to me and even remembered my name! I was impressed! My sister who still lived in Stockholm saw her reading stories to a group of children, stopped and started to listen. Victoria looked up and saw my sister, then well into her 80 . She called to her asked her to come and sit next to her. My sister was really impressed! That is the future Queen of Sweden!

I have worked at a few agencies where the higher ups would get very, very excited about visits from celebrities and well connected persons, and would do anything for them. Those school officials should have taken a breath and consider their students and not their name dropping at cocktail parties. What H & M did was a cheap shot. They contributed nothing.
