When I first saw this, I immediately recognised the similarities to G1 Galvatron, especially the torso. The four squares that make up the 'abdomen', the four-pointed 'crown', the 'knee caps', and the 'Y-fronts'. Clearly a lot of homage going on there.

Because he is always called Galvatron in Super Link. Shockingly, the American release of Galvatron is the most favored version of the Energon Megatron mold, besides, well, his base form.

oh my god i had a flash back of me playing with this figure (galvatron repaint) when i was younger, as soon as you showed off the tanks sounds, i remember spamming the crap out of the buttons on that thing all the time, so soon as i heard it, it brought me back to my youth, thank you :)

Just tracked down the Galvatron repaint of this guy online and can't wait for it to get here. Decided to watch this review to help keep me pumped!

The Galvatron version is just awesome. IMO the best Galvatron we've gotten thus far.

Never forget that this toy got the Core Class treatment, which was Scout Class back in Energon. Yeah, you get a modern version of this thing, only smaller and palm-sized.

I had this as a kid, it was one of my fave figures.

You can insert the tank into where the sword is stored and then hit the button to release it. Also, with the tank stuck in there you can muck around with it a bit and give it a Galvatron-esque cannon emplacement look/mode.

I just bought it, it's beautiful!!!

i like how in superlink megatron was called galvertron from the start due to this was ment to be a continuation from armada

The Japanese version was smaller, and there was a reason. Compare the Energon and Armada Megatrons. Look then at the "rebirth." The smaller version has more continuity consistency seeing as the Armada version's shoulder treads became the shoulder cannons for Energon.

I have this Energon Megatron. He's in storage at the moment about five hours away but I do have him.

I got this Megatron, which Megatron head is suitable for this body as I want to made a SG Megatron.

Regarding the sword in the back issue - the proper way to remove it is to take the tank and push it into the sword chamber, this will lock the sword to the back of the tank

Why didn't you show how the tank can actually plug right into the sword slot on the back, and then pull the sword right out when you hold down the tab?

Hmm, guess I'm the only one who gets a Thunderwing vibe from this guy on top of Galvatron. I even used the smaller version as Thunderwings stand in until they made the generations version.

Megatron's knees DO bend, and you can use port in the back of his tank to remove the sword from his nosecone.

The jet is big enough to fit a small army inside, and maybe a military tank.

the superlink version and the pack exclusive version(the second energon version) are the same except that they are smaller, i think ultra rather than leader, and the force chip slot thinghy is for the megatron sword, botcon shattered glass megatron uses the smaller version

I see now. The little tanks cannon was the inspiration for fall of cybertron megatrons tank cannon.

He's still Bad Ass Man! They did make a Galvatron version which sells for than this version. Hey, I like him! That's he's one of the most used Transformers in the Custom world. Many Customizers love his frame, and those ABS of steel. He's still winning. Love those huge Wings. In my POV he is one of the best figures ever made. Remember "My POV" you have voiced your opinion with volume. Check out Frenzy Rumble or Customs by Z and you'll be enlightened dude. A big B.A. Megatron not these lil fries.

The altmode is 100% Thunderwing.

I always liked that the tank was based on his Armada V-mode, like he couldn’t get rid of it so he made it an arm cannon.

I had this as a kid, it was one of my fave figures.

Always wanted this toy as a kid. His body just looked so cool to me in this version and personally I think he looks way better as Megatron than he does as Galvatron. I never did understand why they called him Megatron when it started off though. He was Galvatron at the end of Armada and has the classic Galvatron crown and stomach thing when Energon begins. I guess at least the Japanese (the ONLY version of the show to watch) keeps it Galvatron from the previous series.

This figure came with green wax which I think was for megatrons sword I have this toy and also energon optimus prime as well

One of the best Megatron incarnations! Firepower for days, Bad Ass vehicle mode, and a tank for his blaster. Winning? Yes!

Actually, the Super Link Megs was a completely new mold, he wasn't even just a repaint.

I think he meant Galvatron.

This thing got so much hype on TV when it was being released.

The toys from Transformers Armada and Energon were my childhood. I loved how the Armada Decepticons had so many projectile weapons, and they had the only vehicle modes that made sense. So my entire collection consisted of just Decepticons.

Use the tank...please use the tank to remove the sword xD. What you referred to as the "force chip" looking bit on the tank is designed to remove the sword from his back.

I have this mold and there are knee joints and mine came with some I guess energon plates that were the same color green as the cannons. whatsoever up with that?

The way Megatron was designed he was obviously ment to become Galvatron.

To me this mold makes the best Galvatron of all.

is an excellent figure, I have it and love it, but you forgot to say that the sword can be removed by entering the tank where they keep the sword and it holds onto the tank, when you remove the tank, it comes up with this grip. is a cool gimik

Is this the "bigger" or the "smaller" version? I thought there were two of them, one Voyager-sized and the other Ultra-sized... I may be wrong though.
