Having such a privilege to see such a special guy with my own specialties, it hurts to see his family look like Sylvester Stalone's son's character in Rocky V being held on the side looking like a scrub while Rocky teaches a student who never had ENOUGH hardships to learn on his own. Now, if Rocky were real, he has worse brain-injuries just because of doing street fighting due to his naive adventure into a naive student.

But your right, Petit's walk was arguably tougher after hiding for hours overnight under a tarp to avoid being caught. The wire he walked was thinner and he walked back and forth 8 times (over 1600 ft) did stunts, and used a 60lb balancing pole instead of 40lbs which Wallenda used.
@noblerare11 жыл бұрын
I can't believe these news reporters are actually asking him questions as he is risking his life! You'd think they'd allow him to concentrate on the task at hand.

Originally from Niagara Falls USA, but live in the Florida Panhandle (Pensacola first, now Panama City) since retiring from the Navy in 1988. Was working the evening shift on one of the wards of a local Mental Health Hospital at the time, and the patients lounge was at the other end of the hallway, and made frequent stops there while doing my rounds.

I remember watching this as a kid. Looking back this man is great !
Agreed! I was there, and let me tell you, there was excitment in the crowd, but there wasn't that gripping fear that I wanted to feel. Nik did great, and I have nothing but the highest regard for what he did. I do however think the harness took a lot out of the evening. I left very satisfied with what I saw, but if the walk were done without the harness, I think I would still be tingling with excitment.
but can he do it on a cold rainy night in stoke?

It's Showtime if he fell he would die
The harness is just there for safety, it's not effecting his effort to stay balanced. I love how he carried his passport across the falls. Nik crosses international borders like a boss!
I almost died when I heard the reporter cut in and ask him how it’s going. Like bitch I’m kinda busy rn talk when I’m not on a tight rope 800 feet above a water fall😂
With the safety harness, the only danger of it is being embarrassed if he fell.

I remember watching this on tv wow its really been that long
Why the hell are they interviewing the guy while he is walking on the wire? Abdolutely insane.
Yeah, for those who don't know, the Horseshoe Falls is entirely in Canada!
they forced him to wear a safety belt for the first time in his life
I remember watching this with my family, good times
I remember this! Wow, this was 8 years ago? Jeez...
An amazing feat. History has been made here! I'm pretty surprised they were interviewing him as he crossed! I did a little bit of tight-rope walking in the Cirque du Soleil. It takes a lot of focus & concentration.
Amazing!
honestly cant beleive it was that long ago i remember watching it on tv and i saw my friend on it
I remember watching this
I remember when I was thereee in the crowd
really this guy is so good
big respect for this guy.
You're welcome. I just noticed that you wrote a similar post before. Glad I'm not the only one who does my research.

I can't believe the guy insists on talking to this guy while he's trying to keep his balance. Sheesh!
Congratulations Sir!!!
yes, amazing !!
Wow...Amazing
I remember watching this at midnight when I was 6 yes it was New Year’s Eve that’s why so late
Legend alert
can somebody who watched that whole thing on tv please tell me what was the background song they had going during the broadcast....went something like "love love love" in a female's voice?? thanks
Holly Molly. Hard to stay next to The Niagara Falls with rain or mist. Amazing!
If u fall into niagra falls will it be a long drop??? Is it possible to swim?
This rascal reporters won't let him concentrate poor guy , bravo
Safetey harness is just for his safety. He was very well balanced and steady. In top of giving an interview at the same time! This was iconic
He try this for his country. Good job man.
goooood job man !!!!1
Was excited bout it first but then saw the harness
So so so so Brave...
Everyone who says this isn't impressive because he has a harness has no idea that the weight of his balls of steel easily exceed the resistance of that harness.
I remember saw this on the Canada side
he didnt want it but TV refused to air it live without a safety tether, but he did the grand canyon without one

That's what they say, he walked in New York last night and it was the same story.
Saw this live from my hotel..there for a hockey tournament...got a window room
Why can't we all be civilised human beings here and attempt to tell the truth? It would have been more fun to see him fall.

Please...people are far too self-righteous to admit that. Yeah, ok...the only reason you watch this stuff is to NOT watch him possibly slip, break the harness and fall to his death while his family screams from the river bank.
His definitely bloody brave a man no doubt
But your right, Petit's walk was arguably tougher after hiding for hours overnight under a tarp to avoid being caught. The wire he walked was thinner and he walked back and forth 8 times (over 1600 ft) did stunts, and used a 60lb balancing pole instead of 40lbs which Wallenda used.
I can't believe these news reporters are actually asking him questions as he is risking his life! You'd think they'd allow him to concentrate on the task at hand.
