Ironically, Will Ferrell is apparently voicing the villain in Despicable me 4. What amuses me the most is just how dumb these people must think we are. They actually had the balls to use clips from the original movie which came out FOURTEEN years ago, and apparently thought no one would notice the DRASTIC change in animation quality. Look, we all get it. Straight to streaming movies NEVER get the time or the love that theatrical releases do. But they couldn't have followed the established lore of the first movie a *little bit*? Megamind having an "old crew" makes absolutely no sense because the whole point of the first movie was that he was an outcast and it was he and Minion against the world. When, where and HOW did he meet those miraculous lady bug rejects?

It should be in line with what the first movie did unless it goes onto a completely different plot, but that plot still has to respect already established points from the first movie. This? ​@@liamjm9278 to be honest, you taking an adaptation of a book series that was already written, rewritten and edited by an author nearly a century ago. So practically most of the work was already done for them there. So not really a great comparison there. Honestly the only reason to do a sequel is if there is a story to tell continuing from the previous one. The real issue is I don't think the studios actually cared if there was a story to tell and is just jumping on the fans resurgence of Mega Minds popularity because Franchise. In honesty, the MCU has had a horrible influence on films in multiple ways.

_I know the focus of this video is how the new megamind streaming stuff sucks_ But can we appreciate how damn joyful gru was during the beginning scene? Seriously, dude looks genuinely happy with a loving family of three adopted Daughters and going on about his day!

The fact that we live in a timeline where a mid looking Despicable Me product is more anticipated than a Megamind sequel after waiting 14 YEARS for you would be absolutely hilarious, if it wasn’t so truly devastating. Well they did announce that it was going to be a peacock exclusive so expected the quality to be not as good, and I remember the name originally being Megamind: Key to defending your city

I was a little skeptical about the idea, but I thought maybe I could be cool… then I watched the trailer and saw this no budget “ movie” made for four year olds… and I immediately realized sometimes you shouldn’t worry about what you want and you should just be glad with what you have. 0:56 this moment is kind of cute.

This is basically me with the banjo kazooie nuts and bolts insident in 2008 but i actually enjoy nuts and bolts nowadays

I dunno. Star Wars fans had to deal with an entire trilogy and some subpar Disney tv shows. So they're probably eating worse. But at the very least, Megamind fans are nowhere near as low as Star wars fans to send death threats to the new voice cast (probably aside from a few "trolls" here and there but still)

Not only did Will Ferrell decide to voice for Despicable Me 4, but it also reminds me of the time Dreamworks had Eddie Murphy taken to Shrek 2 and Mulan had to find a new voice due to a contract between them and Disney. So Dreamworks did Disney and Illumination did them. What a streak their movies had.

You know in 10 years some teen will say "megamind is my fav show" and you will get happy as a 30 yr old but then youngling says " i meant megamind 2 , its my favorite one "

@@PandaSlothProductions That was the only problem I had with the movie. Yes, in my opinion it's one of the best animated movies I've seen which made me wanna rewatch it more than once, but the pacing could've been a little bit better.

Gru vs Megamind seems like it’s not gonna happen, but DM4 blows my expectations immediately.

My headcannon now is that Gru and Megamind are best friends since they both came out around the same time and are based on virtually identical premise. Now Gru is disappointed about how they massacred his boy.

I can’t be the only one who thinks the movie makers put the “You’re welcome” part as a way to piss us off even more.

DreamWorks has stooped so low that people are now seeing Illumination movies as a consolation prize.

I imagine that Gru is depressed to see the state which his old pal Megamind ended up

Well they are the character. The only difference is 2024 Megamind is just poorly written while Og Megamind is the goat.

This is so funny because of how relatable it is but also extremely depressing 😢

The second one looks more like one of the DreamWorks shows made for Netflix compared to the first one.

They got us excited for a pile of steaming hot shit.

This is the actual sequel at least we got Despicable Me 4😢

It looks like a TV spin off similar to King Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness or the Monsters vs Aliens show. Less quality so they can pump it out quicker

I'm outraged at the fact that the animation looks like it was supposed to be a crappy, cash-grab show, not a movie people have been wait 14 years for. also the idea of mega mind having to fight a villain crew isn't bad, but having to fight HIS old villain crew just doesn't make sense in his backstory.

Ngl the despicable me movies are over hated (mainly the third one) and in my opinion are good movies with the first two being the best.

In my honest opinion, I completely agree with you, but I don’t have very high hopes for Dm4. It has good animation and the usual Minion humor of course but its plot so far seems very rushed and cliche like Dm3.

Honestly I did not know there was a megamind two so founding out later... Luckily didn't get my hopes up

Yeah, this was about my reaction too. Brief excitement that there was goung to be a sequel...then all the news: straight to streaming, no Will Ferrell, new villains he apparently worked with, what the actual heck 😢
