So long and I STILL consider this one of the greatest songs. You and Zero will always hold a place in my heart. Thank you Itoga-san!!

What gets me is that in Mega Man 11, back in his college days, Dr. Wily was talking about making a robot so powerful that they could be seen as a hero. So even though Wily himself went down a dark path when his proposal was rejected, in the long run, unintentional or not, Zero wound up fulfilling his initial dream. What would Albert Wily say, I wonder, if he was around to witness his greatest creation go far beyond what he could've possibly imagined back then?

Take into account the brief near-death experience Zero has in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom where after barely surviving the final boss' parting shot, with the shadow of Wily even calling him "my son", the metaphors of blue and red gears used in Mega Man 11 as a sort of gentle hope that the efforts of Light and Wily could create a better tomorrow, and... ...suffice to say, Zero may well be Wily's final thesis and a parting rebuttal to Dr. Light: while Light's works alone were naive and unintentionally created a world where Reploids eventually caused the apocalypse and humans in turn turned on their own creations, and Wily's own rebellion alone caused untold suffering with his frequent robot uprisings, Wily's creation, with Light's creation guiding him, would ultimately prove to be the key to saving the world. All I'm saying is, Dr. Wily, or perhaps that fading part of him that once held a hope for a hero, would tell Zero: _"I have always been proud of you. My son."_

According to Inafune, Zero gradually recover his memories from the past. In the beggining of Megaman Zero 4, Zero recorved all his memories from X series times and the Elf Wars. In the same time that he helps the Resistance he search to discover who he is. Zero knows that he is an Dr.Wily creation since the end of Megaman X5, and refuses his destiny of God of Destruction, to him fight Omega is like fighting to his destiny, the destiny that Wily wanted to Zero.

In the song Zero is starting to remember that in the past he loved someone (probably Iris) but these memories in Megaman Zero 2 time period still very vagues (he dont even remembervthe name of that flower). He only knows that he sufferd greatly in the loss of this past love. But Zero is begining to realize that he have feelings about... Ciel... and that the tragedy that he suffered happened in the past and he should think in the future now.

Rafael Goes Martins I don't think Wily would want Zero to become 'god of destruction' or a tool of war for another scientist(Weil) for that matter. By the time of X series it is shown that he has become somewhat obsessive only with the destruction of his rival's robot (X). Seems to me he would be satisfied as long as Zero engage X in battle and come out as victor(which Zero did,at least with copy X). Btw I really have some difficulty reading what you wanted to say....

The only one alive who could do this for him is Ciel, who he must protect, hope will die with her, as will humanity under Weil's lordship. So, if Zero could no longer chase his dreams to protect the people he cared about, who could possibly be left to embrace him?

That clover... I'm guessing it's Ciel. That forgotten flower could be Iris, too. After all, an Iris is a type of flower. Zero's life is suffering.

Ciel means sky, so looking toward the sky is symbolic of looking to Ciel and seeing a future where reploids and humans can coexist to the point where they are not very different between eachother. A clover may have flowers on it, and a clover flower that blooms looks a lot like the Ciel System. But the unnamed forgotten flower may be Iris. It could most likely be symbolic of his relationship with Iris and her wish of a world where ONLY reploids exist. But the blooming clover could be symbolic that the answer to Ciel's perfect energy source lies within Zero. or his fondness and belief for/in Ciel.

This in a nutshell that I found about Zero's growing love for Ciel in his own way (unlike the harems of late 2000s to 2010s). tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/YMMV/MegaManZero That he does loved Ciel romantically. In the character song 'Clover', he sings about forgetting a certain flower but discovering a new one he focuses his feelings on. Later on, Inti would release the OST album 'Resonnant Vie', with the cover featuring Zero and Ciel. Ciel is holding onto a large clover. Also the whole 'I believe in you' thing they share with each other. This would make the relationship between them into a mutual case of Cannot Spit It Out. (Unless Alouette jumped in the middle of it to be a little sister/daughter to Zero much to Ciel's chagrin for laughs since she's been jelly if said girl outside Alouette fell in love with Zero. Lookin at Leviathan & some Resistance girls bruh!)

I dare to say that Zero had a immense impact in my life "The one who's gonna destroy all reploids" as Doc:Willy said turns out to choose his own path and do pretty much the opposite "I have no interest in in yesterday, the past is long gone life happens we move forward" Zero strong words had such a great effect over me and I dare to say he changed my life. thanks for sharing this music with me guys ^^

This song relfects the game perfectly. Because Elpizo wasn't really a bad guy. He was just inexperienced in the role that they placed him in. He just felt miserable when the attack on Neo Arcadia failed. He thought he didnt have enough power to free the citizens and was just searching. By the way he literally thanks Zero for defeating him wich is something that a real villain would never do.

@@Bornheck If it wasn't for Weil, it would had come to pass. Harpuia is a reasonable guy. He would had accepted the truce and things would had gone from there. Ultimately after Ciel's sucess the world was healed and once the lines between humans and reploids got blurred, that particular conflict came on an end.

You can tell emotion was shoved deep into this to move the listeners of it Cause I sure as hell shed a tear

@@LetsNeverPlayAgain Thing is, he turned from "cocky ace who's confident about what he was" into a "traumatized veteran who compartmentalizes his emotions when fighting", even during the times his friends were there. You could chalk that growing taciturn nature up to Zero maturing as the X series went on, sobered up from the tragedies in his life and the knowledge he only has X as a constant when all others turned traitor or died.

I want to put this off my chest At 11-14 i used to listen to this everyday something so magical i. Used to take walks in my old country and look at sunsets and think, life is beautiful listening to it to sunsets, mornings, flying. i couldnt find a way to play the games till on a ds hack then my life got busy and i got the legacy collection a few weeks ago. Im 19 now I moved to england to chase my dream of becoming a better musician and make something out of it. Then my old country went into a crisis, explosion, etc, i ended up selling my house. There my childhood home all my memories are stored into this song, i miss how things were😔

I know people think the Clover is Ciel, but there’s multiple parts of the song that seem to hint it’s someone he’s known longer. I think it’s X. This song was made for MMZ2, and in MMZ2, he had only known Ciel for a year and a half at most, while the song heavily implies that it’s been there for a very long time. The idea of the clover in his pocket is him trying to carry on the legacy of his closest friend who he made a promise to. And he sure as hell did. Edit: Another part of the song says a “still-blooming clover”, which can’t be X, he bloomed ages ago. But there’s still the stuff about the clover being with him for a long time. This makes me think he means both Ciel and X, and the term “clover” is used interchangeably between them because to him, they represent the same thing: his closest companion who he’s made a promise to. Brings a different light to the song if he’s actually talking about 2 separate clovers, X and Ciel, his closest friends.

I think he is still talkiing about X, since he is keeps saving Zero multiple times until Zero 3, in which he saves him one last time before finally fading away. In my opinion, the bright sky that leads to the future he mentions is the reference to Ciel instead, since she is literally the person who is leading the Resistance and everyone to a better future, plus her name also translates from french to english as "Sky". Though I believe that everyone's interpretation will be different and in alignment with their selves.

I thought it was pretty obvious that this song was aimed at X, more than anyone else. After all, this is the vocal version of Departure, and both of these versions were played essentially after X was gone. Since X could no longer embrace his dreams of protecting the world, only Zero was left to do so for him.

With that, he tried to figure out what he’s already accomplished, who he is, what he is, and what’s happened to him and his memories. He is what Dr. Light wanted yet being a creation of Dr. Wily.

It’s what I admire about the MMZ series and How to Train Dragon(weird link i know). They both ended their franchises on their own terms, instead of running it into the ground. And they ended it beautifully.

I used to listen to this very often two years ago, while viewing this girl as Ciel and associating her with all I could describe as "paradise", she used to be a part of me kind of, when she left it took me a year to "free" myself and accept the fact that she isn't coming back nor thinking about me anymore, but since I realised it all I fell like myself again, I can move on too and do what I have to do, nowadays when I think about her, I can barelly remember who she was since she changed so much and I understand now, she is for both of us a long distant memory left in the past, getting more and more rusty everyday to finally one day be forgoten

The mega man zero games were my childhood

I've always wanted to think that Dark Elf/ Mother Elf is Iris. I know there's not much evidence to back that up, but it makes sense to me and it makes the ending of Mega Man Zero 3 a lot more emotional.

Since Zero was built by Dr Wily to be the ultimate killing machine, he had a rampant and destructive personality, and was eventually sealed away with the Maverick/Zero Virus because he was near uncontrollable. When he was discovered before X1 by Sigma and beaten, he lost his memories and became a "new" person in a sense. Zero also released the Maverick/Zero Virus when he was discovered by Sigma. In between the X and Zero series, Zero's mind is separated from his body so his body can be studied for science. Dr. Weil steals the original body, which has that rampant personality of Zero's original self; aka Omega. Dr. Weil used the science Zero's mind was placed inside a copy body and that was the one he used for the rest of his life. The remnants of the Maverick/Zero Virus was used to corrupt the Mother Elf and caused her to turn into the Dark Elf

This is so nostalgic. Back when I was two years old, I played my first Megaman game: Megaman X4. I wanted to understand the plot (I was illiterate), so I had my grandma read it for me. She eventually grew tired of doing this and I had to teach myself how to read. I honestly don't blame the poor lady; I had her get up and down constantly. To think all this time has gone by... Also, whether or not Zero died in MMZ4 is debatable. He may have gotten his happy ending after all. Who's to say?

That's debatable, since Alouette made Zero promise he would play in Area Zero with her and Ciel after Ragnarok was dealt with, the possibility of a peaceful coexistence between reploids and humans had become a possibility, and his last words were telling Ciel to believe in him. The tragedy of Z4's ending was that if Zero truly died, then he would live to see the world of hope he helped to create after centuries of fighting.

Needed this song after all the things Capcom has said and the news going around that Megaman may not get anymore games. Zero was my fav and this song just feels right.

If there is ever a mega man zero anime this should play after weil is defeated

I just noticed Zero is always looking at the sky, and my mind popped up with Ciel. IMO, I think his hope was inspired by Ciel herself, that's how he never lose hope to Copy X, Omega and Weil. ( In ultimatemaverickx's decisive battle between Zero and Omega, he proves that Zero was powered up because of Ciel.)

Also, Ciel means "Sky" in French. So it's a pretty symbolic thought

Also Ciel means Heaven or sky in french and yes Zero's growing fondness of Ciel. I can picture Alouette jump to kickstart this whole trendwheel that Zero & Ciel inspired each other out of love.

Usually, i don't like the songs at first listen but, this... I loved it.

This song is Rockman Zero 2 ending, by that time things weren't so lost like it was on 3 and 4. There were no Weil, Omega, and the Dark Elf had just been freed... And I actually interpretate this song as being aimed more to Ciel than to Zero. After all, Zero mostly just do what people tell him to, following their ideals, while Ciel sometimes got really depressed when seeing her dreams going wrong (like on RMZ3 after Weil orders the destruction of a Neo Arcadian district).

If i say this song gives me goosebumps, it's nothing compared with actually makes me feel

why this is so good in 2020?
