I like how Megalodon has a head more like a bull shark, and a little ‘racing stripe’ on the side like the common blacktip. They used a bunch of different sharks as inspiration for the meg, and I love that!

The fact we got MICROCERATUS, after waiting so long, is magnificent!

Ok ok I guess the initial angle for the pack would have been to have Hatzegopteryx instead of Thanatosdrakon. When the trailer aired I initially assumed that it *was* Hatzegopteryx. But I can see the thought process behinds the change: -First, they want an kind of realistic looking Azhdarchid to pair with the film Quetz, which isn't as accurate and has like a 20m wingspan. -Hatzegopteryx thambema is famed for being on par with real life Quetzalcoatlus nothropi in terms of size, if a little smaller and a little stockier. -A potential game Hatz would therefore be either A) realistically scaled, with a 10m wingspan, or B) scaled to the film Quetz, with a ~20m wingspan. -Both A and B have problems. Option A gives you a underwhelming bodysize when compared to the Quetz, making "The Terror of Hateg Island" feel kinda puny and 'uncool', but option B gives you essentially a palaeoaccurate Quetz clone, which is also kinda underwhelming for what feels like the last JWE2 DLC. -Given that we want a cool realistic azhdarchid that feels like it contributes meaningfully to the roster, it seems best to give Hatz a wide berth because of these issues. -This leaves us with the rest of Azhdarchidae, of which there are like 20ish. We still want a big one, so that it can stand up against the likes of Tropeognathus and Pteranodon, but not a giant that might run into the same size problem as Hatzegopteryx, ruling out stuff like Arambourgiania at one end and Azhdarcho and Phosphatodraco at the other; ideally we're looking for a wingspan of 8-9m. -Thanatosdrakon and Cryodrakon are the primary candidates here I think, they fit the bill of big but not too big. And I think Thanatosdrakon is the pick to make here, to make the game slightly less americacentric. This is something all dinosaur media should keep in mind ideally, given that many of the famous prehistoric creatures are from North America and other continents, particularly the southern continents, become underrepresented. Thanatosdrakon helps expand JWE2's South American roster, which is in much more need of expansion than it's northern neighbour's.

5/5 stars I really wanted the Meg every since the release of jwe2. I was baited by the dunk’s tail in its trailer, but I can now rest easy knowing my wait for the Meg is short.

This is great because with Segisaurus, we now have all 15 species meant for the original Jurassic Park. With Microceratus, we now have 12/15 species from the novel. The only ones left are Hadrosaurus, Othneilia, and Procompsognathus.

Yes! Kelp forests, big shark, and another tiny dinosaur! After almost a year of minimal gaming, this will successfully drive me back to Evolution 2. Can’t wait to see what you do with new lagoons!

This entire pack feels like a wild card, but honestly I'm not complaining. We've been hyping up segi and microceratus for a long while and the meg adds more variety to lagoon exhibits. Thanatosdrakon is unexpected, but hey, it's attack animation has me intrigued so I'm happy 🤷🏾‍♂️🥰

think. the thanatosdrakon is in the pack because. I think they're saving the Top Hatzegopteryx for a Potential Pterosaurs DLC. I have a feeling frontier might make at least 1 or 2 more DLCs before focusing on this next Jurassic game

Ladies and gentlemen we got Kelp!!! So happy with the Magalodon and Microceratus. I feel like they could have done more for the free update like a last attraction of some kind but even though it won’t happen I’m still excited.

I totally thought for a second the first time I saw the announcement trailer for this dlc that the Thanatosdrakon was jwe2’s interpretation of Hatzegopteryx 💀🤣

Glad everyone, including you, got the Megalodon you've all been wanting. And very greatful it's not the exaggerated fictional one. Not to mention the kelp which will be a nice addition. Meanwhile, the Microceratus is finally coming. Along with two other species.

know what's funny i did ask for Cryodrakon, so not far off! XD But they could have plans for Hatzegopteryx so they don't want to add a potential spoiler or a not-movie inaccurate one to the game (like Giga) so we got another large Azhdarchid instead. I'm interested in this pack either way and I hope we get some really unique animation for our large shark. Also, megalodon is not thought of anymore as being closely related to white sharks instead belonging to Otodontidae sharks. I know this is still a common mistake people make so I thought to inform you a little bit. keep up the great work and love all you're parks and tours

I think the reason why frontier chose thanatosdrakon instead of Hatzegopterx is because the Hatzeg would have to compete with the quetz for "giant pterosaur" and using a smaller but similar looking pterosaur makes sense to avoid the quetz getting overshadowed.

I like the pack overall but thanatosdrakon is noticeably small. It should be about Quetzacoatlus size, but it’s noticeably smaller than that.

Some thanatosdrakon facts since nobody knows what it is. Name means dragon of death, known from two well-preserved specimens in 2018 and it is the largest pterosaur from South America. Looks fantastic too!

Meg is definitely the selling point for me here and ending the last DLC with microceratus is definitely a right move that I very much appreciated. also, another feathered pteranodon is always a welcome addition considering we only have two so far with jeholopterus and quatzalcoatlus and I don't think adding smilodon is truly necessary for a game revolving around dinosaurs considering we already have lystrosaurus, dimetrodon, megalodon, and the dunk for variations outside of dinosaur and prehistoric reptile. Hopefully, in JWE3 or the next game, they will have a pack revolving around mesozoic animals and even allowed us to breed them like in Zoo Tycoon 2.

And MICROCERATUS IS THERE ! you must've been bumping in your seat when you saw this trailer for the first time.

This pack is the GOAT now. Weird that the megladon eats its own descendant. They treated us with this so comprimised on the free update last time. I prefer this set up tbh.

The Megalodon is a large super predator that eats just about everything to sustain itself. It wouldn’t avoid eating great whites just cuz in 30 millions years it was gonna kinda evolve in to them. It would eat them the same way it would eat other fish of that size

Fantastic video to start a Monday off with as usual 😊I think it is kind of like a salutation pack, bittersweet for sure, going to be interesting for the future of this park game series for sure!

Now we need to start being vocal about getting decorative pieces that would help us make a high-security facility. Or even functional ones such as security gates and check points for pedestrian paths.

I'm happy that Microceratus is finally in the game, though I'm a bit bummed that Smilodon isn't included.

I'm very happy because of the news, but I have to say I'm disappointed with the free content. I was expecting a new kind of attraction, like the Cretaceous Cruise, which has been asked for the community since the first game. I hope they focus more on the rides on the third game if it's also a park build.

it's simply horrible, a tiny species, the megalodon will be little used because aquariums are terrible, the only ones that can be saved are the micro and the flying one all this for the same price as the other dlcs... and the free update is even worse we are accepting very little from this company, an update every 3/4 months for minimal changes and new dinosaurs that are not worth the price

I have to say that the Thanatodrakon is easily my favorite of the bunch.

My beloved Microceratus 😭❤ I loved it, and I loved the Segisaurus, now I can sell my renamed Coelophisys from my Jurassic Park recreation. The only thing I miss is the river cruise, I hope this isn't the last dlc and we will get this attraction

All we need now to round things out is a Chaos Theory Pack. I’d imagine something similar to Camp Cretaceous Pack with Becklespinax as a new species and new variants for Suchomimus and Pachyrhinosaurus, maybe other skins if new dinosaurs show up

Thanatosdrakon is quite similar to Hatzgoptyeryx, they're both giant, stocky pterosaurs, to the point where you could basically slap the name "Hatzgopteryx" into that same design and no one would notice, so getting Thanato makes me equally happy, in fact my might even prefer it since it adds more South America representation which the game really lacks + i always love seeing obscure, recently described species getting the spotlight.

They need to make lots of just dino packs. There were so MANY dinosaurs back then!! Exciting ones like Argentinosaurus, or Lambeosaurus (one of my favorites). They would definitely release packs with 5-6 dinosaurs to give more variety in the game. Would buy all of them

Thanatodrakon! A lesser known Azhdarchid with an awesome name! I actually get why they went with this instead of Hatzegopteryx. It's smaller and more distinct from Quetzalcoatlus I think, more interesting. Plus, Hatzegopteryx is a bigger name pterasaur that they may be saving for the 3rd game. On another note, I love its more fossil accurate head and beak shape! ^-^

My favorite pterosaur, gosh I’m glad they’re adding Thanatosdrakon to the game! Anyways the Megalodon seems to look like a great white (skin obviously), bull shark (blunt head), tiger shark (stripes) and whale shark (dot pattern) had a baby that came out perfectly

I’m glad Frontier is adding dinosaurs that don’t get enough light in the Jurassic community or even the whole dinosaur fan community, like Segisaurus and Thanatosdrakon instead of said Hatzegopteryx. Of course Segi is a well known in the Jurassic community but there would a chance of it being replaced by a more well known dinosaur.

I think the pterosaur is because we’ve been wanting another azharchid in the game. Instead of Hatz they gave us this one which was almost as big. And it looks great!

One hope i have is that even if this is the last DLC and that this free update is small, i hope we get some small updates for fans, such as: Be able to continue the Dominion and Main Campaign's just to have fun, to be able to pick a couple islands that you can travel to in 1 save file, and have the species viwer available is the hatcheries.

I bet Thanatosdrakon is just someone in Frontier's favourite, but I LOVE the pycnofibres/protofeathers on it!

I think Thanatosdrakon was added as another Azhdarchid (something that was requested) and but also as a newly named species.

I feel like this is the final dlc we will get for jwe 2 but part of me kinda hopes we get at least 1 more dlc after this one but even if this is the last dlc i will still be happy because this game has had a good run for the most part, we love you frontier thank you for everything❤️

What also makes Thanatosdrakon interesting is that it's a recently described genus being named back in 2022 Also I like Thanatosdrakon because it's a smaller azhdarchid like it's smaller than Quetzalcoatlus but it looks bigger than the other pterosaurs in the game

They need to add the cargo delivery system to sandbox with you picking maximum of 5 maps and then we can we can make a pure jurassic universe where we transport the dinos from isla sorna map to isla nublar map etc.Each map will have there own settings and building style for old console players like me.And you make tge maps squared maps also when choosing your 5 maps
