Yeah, one's own beginnings are reflected in the new metalhead's enthusiasm. It makes nostalgic, reminds you of those moments where you discovered Metal and how it can move you... and it reignites the love for the music when you see people discovering it. On top of that it adds to your own understanding, because each time you get a new perspective on the matter and you might see something in a song that you always missed, even though you've been listening to it for a decade or more. And there's so much more stoff for the LIV boys to discover.... crazy stuff like Satyricon's Rebel Extravaganza, one of Metal's weirdest and coolest albums... just in general a lot of cool stuff in that sweet zone where Black Metal mixes with all kinds of other styles... "Blackened Death Metal" bands could be something the two enjoy... etc. etc. etc. just sooo much stuff to listen to :D

People can say whatever they want about Dave Mustaine, his voice, his attitude, etc, but there is NO denying his talent as a songwriter and guitarist is in the top tier level of the metal world. Fuel that with Chris Poland, Ellefson, Marty, Gar, Nick, Kiko, etc over the years... love this band, seen them 4 times live and look forward to my 5th. Get well, Dave, we need you to continue to melt our metal souls!

MAD props for picking up on the Jazz overtones in this song. Chris Poland & Gar Samuelson, the Lead guitarist & drummer of this lineup, were both Jazz musicians who'd played in a Jazz-Fusion band called The New Yorkers. Mustaine recruited them for their virtuoso playing, which, combined with the Thrash, was something no one had ever heard before.

There was actually a very subtle shift a measure before that "abrupt" transition that you loved (go back and listen for it and you'll catch it 14:10-14:12, they break the galloping riff to give you a touch of the transition). It sets your brain up so subtly that you really need to be listening for it to realize what it's doing. After that, your ear has been trained to anticipate the transition, so they can just hit you with it, and you know it's there. It's ridiculously meticulous attention to detail.

Franco Kcy0 Although Dave is far from the best metal singer I absolutely prefer him over most generic scream/growl/ metal singers. Dave has a unique voice and it causes Megadeth to have a unique sound which makes them more memorable than all of the cut and paste metal bands with the generic “deep voice” singer Megadeth would sound better with James Hatfield Phil Amselmo or Chuck Billy though. But I prefer Dave Mustaine over most “average” metal singers. At least Dave has a completely original style and snarl and attitude

This music was a huge rebellious form of music for kids growing up in the 1980s. I use to buy albums because of the art work. I struck out with many and grown to love others. Killer music that is being lost. Young people don’t have the attention span to like music that has more then 3 changes.

I'm 38 and finally worked my way up to playing some of the lead stuff, been too lazy to really dive in and learn more of it with my busy lifestyle. Pretty much anyone can learn this stuff with some dedication to the instrument, and especially with the internet to help. But...the *_real_* talent lies in the songwriting/composition skills, which Dave and co. masterfully display here, and of course on all the early Deth albums. These guys were unbelievably talented for such a young age...and especially with all the drugs they were doing. I absolutely love Dave's inimitable wild style/tone. Never heard anything quite like that. And of course the rest of the band members. Gar and Chris were both equally amazing, and Ellefson's bass really stands out on this album for me. First 4 albums are my favorite.
