I think He was probably sober during this period, but probably pissed off to the bone. It was a time of intraband strife for Megadeth. I saw them live a few months after this recording. They were tight as a nun's crotch, but it seemed they were totally separated from each other. Dave and Marty did not look at each other once.

@@Okkvltify yeah but you must admit this is one of there best live concerts He sings alot off of cryptic writings. Which was recorded in Nashville and I do beloebve Dave and his wife were split up and Dave holed himself up in a trP house for at least a week or two and he seen a man use a needle. I am that man. And the song trust and she told. Correct me if I'm weong but I really think alot of these songs from cryptic writings seemed more geared toward heart like the song ill get even with you. I was just apart of your little black book. I read the Dave mustane auto biography. Dave is the real deal and I used to really like Metallica untill I discovered how much heavier mega deth is. Mega Deth was built on hatred and revenge and Dave always got second unfortunate. Countdown for extinction mega deths most famous album was on the music charts. They were number two. Can you believe he lost to bill Ray Cyrus don't break my heart my achy break heart. So Ave mustang was like wtf is wrong with people. Lol . Dave mustane is quite the martial artist and has been since an early teen He used to beat the shit outta people who picked on James and Lars when he was still part of Metallica which Dave wrote over half of kill em all and he even had alot to do with ride the logjtno g which happen to be Metallica's two heaviest albums except and justice for all. That album was pure rage. They just lost there bassist Cliff Burton. Dave and cliff would car pool to band practice in the Metallica days and cliff always had some he grown shot. It does the trick but you need at least a fat joint type of shit When Dave was told about cliffs death he was sad and he dedicated the song in my darkest hour to cliff Burton even though the song is about Dave's break up with his ex gf

If you think this is outstanding, your bar is fucking low. I've heard way better in dive bars from local bands. This is not a world class performance. There are a few little points where he's on good form otherwise his phrasing, breath support and accents are all off. Compared to literally him on record. Being love you should change things in the positive, not sound like you can't be bothered to get through the phrase. Now that works in grunge, or songs about indentation, but not here. Sorry I'm a singer and performer, and this sucks.

Dave used to have one of highest pitch vocal in metal, but like everyone else ,he's getting older. He's not even 40 in this concert and he's 55 now. Metallica already downtuned their guitar since 1996.

I like this version better than the album. Dave vocal was the best during the 90's. Look how easy he sung those highnotes. It started with low pitch than jumped to really high pitch without much effort.

Octoplus if I didn’t love nick as much as I do I’d say he’s one of the best if not the best drummer that stepped into megadeth, it’s a shame he wasn’t around for a meaningful record

I swear to god I’ve been watching Megadeth live concerts on KZread since high school and I never get tired of them. Long live Dave Mustaine a true living legend. ❤️🙏

4 years later I answer what you probably know by now if you are a singer: nasal / head voice for high pitches usually do not require mouth opening as a chest or throat voice.

It is a Jackson Y2KV, they had a model that came out around this time with the more traditional V design but the KV1 was also still available. I like the Y2KV but nothing looks as correct as Dave rocking a KV1
