This and ZX Advent are my favorite megaman games by far! I wish we had more metroidvania-style megaman games.

Well, it wasn't perfect. ZX was good, but the map system was terrible. ZXA, on the other hand, had a good map, but was more linear than ZX. Still, both are pretty good games.

Forms weren't very well balanced either. Very few Pseudoroid forms with actual utility, and the Model forms were less usable due to lack of Overdrive mechanics. Model H is still amazing in terms of movement and combos, but nowhere near the damage output of HX, and the other Models are pretty worthless, P especially. Model ZX is OP is all hell though, especially when combined with Chronoforce. As a sidenote, I always felt it was a pity it isn't possible to play ZX through as Model OX.

Sadly it's not fully completable, Model X's attacks can't reach Serpet Phase 2

@@JMParra-bc6gb Wait really? I thought that phase 2 was unreachable with the regular buster shots, and that the only reason PX could complete it is becuase of it's shuriken.

Its a shame they didn't fought Omega on that run. I'd love tho see how they deal with it

The only speedrun I was glad they kept talking. Oh my god that jump sound effect was old in 3 seconds flat.

I just found out that the drop pod things that spawn enemies can be killed with one shuriken and one regular burst with PX, it seems to be somewhat faster than what I've seen here, but I'm not entirely sure. I don't do speedruns ( I can barely finish these games as it is ) but I figured I'd share it in case it helps anyone.

Keep in mind that it takes 2 seconds to switch weapon in this game

I really enjoyed this game. as it was my first Mega Man. The sequel wasn't as solid as this one in my opinion. X still exists though XD

I might not like the rigid mission structure of this game, but seeing runners get full mileage out of every form's unique abilities is awesome.

@@Ffom177 It's a capture card. Speedrunning games via emulation automatically makes the run invalid for a number of reasons (input lag, running on hardware the game isn't meant to be on etc.)

Dang, they got Flameberger up in here?? Wow, I'm impressed. Regarding the MMZ runs he's done, I'd say this is a win.

Model PX is mostly only good for its shadow shield charged attack when you get both halves of the Biometal, but it's really not good for speedrunning because of how long it takes to set up. The shadow shield can block enemy buster fire and can destroy a single missile, but if it blocks a missile it gets discharged and you have to set it up again.

Actually, you don't need I frames to open that path in area I (HX boss #2). There's a cannon enemy to the right which you can rotate with clever use of FX's bullet path customizer. If you aim it at the wall, it'll destroy the spikes allowing you to safely destroy the wall with FX.

Uhh would like to point out the bottom screen which has quite a bit of info while using one of the "guardian" forms (for harpuya it's a weakness and hp monitor, for fafnir it's a bullet trajectory adjustment, leviathan has a minimap and spotter for hidden items, and I think phantom has nothing good down there but gives ya bit more of a radius for eyesight on top screen) although they never said anything about this so I doubt they even know bout that half of the biometal's powers ( the ones in zx advent have similar things I think but phantom has the biggest buff and has the radar and bigger eyesight thing...... but I forget what they did with leviathan)

Phantom has a minimap that accurately displays hidden passages and drop-through platforms, as well as enemy locations. Leviathan's minimap is bigger and shows hidden item locations, but does not show drop-through platforms, enemies, or hidden passages. Also, you may not have noticed, but Leviathan's bottom screen was used during the run in the second Harpuya stage. The runner used it to navigate in the dark, where most casual players would be using Phantom instead.

Because they couldn't be assed to dub it. idfk why they removed it from normal dialogue when the cutscenes are still in Japanese though.

For casuals like me, it's actually awesome. You can stay in a boss's blind spot and shoot it down safely with the redirectable shots.

Sir Lumino as soon as he's ready, at least. the run is over when the winstate has been reached, and i imagine that ZX won't let you take on the final boss until all the other bosses are done.
