MEG Teeth, Shark Teeth, Fossils & Direwolves! | Venice, FL | with Capt Michael Nastasio & Kenny Dyal
Venice Beach Florida is the shark tooth capitol of the world, and local charter captain Michael Nastasio lets us in on the secrets, techniques, and tricks to finding shark teeth and other fossils. He also tells us why the Magalodon tooth is considered "black gold". He talks about how to find horse teeth and bones, giant armadillo armor plates, giant beaver fossils, whale teeth and bones, dire wolves and sharks ranging from Great Whites to the famous "Meg". We sink our teeth into every question we can think of to get in on the action. Captain Nastasio says you can find shark's teeth from the beach out to about 30 ft of water depth, from as far South as Caspersen Beach, to 3 miles North of Sharky's Pier in Venice, FL. Definitely a must for any level of diver to bite off their bucket list.

Michael is a great guy, I use to fuel his boat, have a bucket of ice and a Mountain Dew waiting for him when he was done visiting Pepe, the parrot. Gonna miss talking to him every morning! Michael, if you see this, I hope you’re doing well my friend. And he ALWAYS tipped me five dollars.

How much do you have to worry about sharks while diving?

Essentially a non-issue. In fact, you’ve gotta pay extra & find a good operation to actually get you near some sharks, and even then they’ll usually start their briefing with “no guarantees”

Shark teeth are kinda cool but they are common. Don't think they are comparable to gold. Enjoy the sharkteeth.

Maybe a matter of opinion- I can’t believe how excited this community gets. Also, larger Meg teeth commonly fetch $3k or more ✌️
