I can feel you bud, but we have to forge our own wings ,we are not privileged with international school at small cities or even mindset and knowledge of our parents and society is not sufficient , i only got to know about ISEF today. well not bad cuz i still have some time for isef 2024

Finally someone acknowledged him. I was greatly inspired by him when I was in school in 10th and 12th grade back in 2015-17. Its amazing these kids get the opportunity to be there.

dear bro or sis, self doubt kills more dreams than failure. You are in class 9 and from Delhi !! you have ample of opportunities. why are you wasting your time in self doubt. Just excel in your academics and make a balance between academics and extracurricular activities prepare for exams like NTSE, IOQM, NSEJS , IJSO, KVPY, JEE ADVANCED or NEET this is the only time, as today I am in IIT K but still think that I could have done more better in my school life . Cutoff from your friends and study hard to get into IIT or NItS , from there you will get good peer group and you can reach USA easily through scholarship

The person at 1:50 saying that these are the best minds from India. I think for him India is limited only to some cities/states like Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore. I can hear only two odd cities Nagpur and Mohali and i think they are also well developed now. Maybe some of them are special but mostly its all about the guidance provided by someone elederly who have some knowledge about these competitions or schools. Without equal opportunities to all don't adjudge them as the best minds from India. I have an example in our cricket coaching M.S Dhoni Cricket Academy. They have to select a team for South Africa tour. They gave us the pamphlets on which the price mentioned for the tour was about 1 Lakh +. Most of the players from our academy didn't participated in the trials as it was a huge amount for anyone. But they have to send a team so the players who can afford that amount were sent on the tour. Now you will say that they were the best players from India or even from M.S.D.C.A.

@Naman Pratap Singh Bro ultimately everything narrows down to money. In states/cities other than Bangalore, Mumbai and New Delhi the infrastructure provided is not of that quality. Our schools don't provide research facilities. Tell me a reason why most of the students selected here are from major cities/states like Bangalore, Mumbai and New Delhi. There are 28 states in India.You can also see that even from their respective states they are from the most developed city of their state for ex- Maharashtra(Mumbai), Karnataka(Bangalore). I can almost surely say that even from these cities/states they will belong to the top private schools. How are you able to afford that private school money i think.. I think you must have heard that when an elder brother clears iit or any other entrance exams it gets easier for the his younger brother to clear it. Do you think that younger brother is very intelligent ?. No, he knows exactly what to study and what not to study. My intention is not to criticize the participants but the person who is saying that they are the best minds of India. I think its absurd to claim that without exploring the full potential of India. In our state we didn't even heard about these competitions. If you tell me that there is Sachin Tendulkar from Mumbai then I will tell you there is also M.S. Dhoni from Ranchi. My point is without hunting talent from all over India you can't find M.S. Dhoni who is the reason of India winning the world cup not Sachin who has individual records. Opportunity toh mile hamein tab aukat dikhate hain in best minds of India ko

Main batata hun aapne olympiad kyun bola bina pta hote hue ki kya selection procedure hai kyunki aapko lagta hai saare selection national level exams se hote hain jo kaafi popular hote hain. Aapne national science fair ka naam suna hai? Aur jahan tak baat hai yahan research ki baat chal rhi hai iit ya kisi entrance exam ki baat nhi chal rhi hai. Agar aapke paas research ka material hi nhi hoga toh equal opportunity kaise. Ab aap kahenge ki tum khud internet se pta karke research karo. Please aap in logon ka interview leke mujhe batayenge ki inka selection isme kaise hua. Mujhe jahan tak lagta hai isme inke schools ka bhut bada role hoga. Aur a.p.j abdul kalam ka example pehli baat toh exception ki kami nhi hoti phir bhi example accepted kyunku ham kyu nhi exception ban sakte hain. Rameshwaram tamilnadu me hai one of the most educated state of India jahan ke colleges me unke liye kaafi seats reserved rehti hai mere bhaiya tamilnadu ke national law university me hain wahan unke 65-70 log ke batch me 10 north indians hain bas. Aur point ye nhi hai ki apj abdul kalam wahan se nikal gye point ye hai unke nikalne ke rameshwaram se aur kitne bacchon ko nikalne ki koshish ki gyi. Sundar pichai ke pita electrical engineer the (guidance) aur maa bhi stenographer thi. Aur wo bhi tamilnadu se hain. Aur aap mujhe jara puch ke batayenge ki kaun se parents pure ek saal ka salary laga ke apne bacche ko america bhejenge. Main bihar se hun aur aap anand sir ko jaante hi honge unko bhi cambridge se offer aaya tha wo toh nhi jaa paye. Jahan tak aapne baat ki apne kota ke dosto ki toh please mujhe aap ye batayenge aapko aur aapke dosto jinko scholarship mili unko total hostel ye sab ka laga kota me rehne ka kya cost pada kyunki hostel me scholarship nhi hota hai naa. Aap cost bataye uske baad mein kuch comment karunga. Aur sabse pehle aap iska jawab dijiye gaa ki baaki states/cities se bache kyun nhi select hue aur jis state se hue hain usme se bhi us state ke best cities se kyun hue. Aur mera main motive research based opportunities se tha aapne exam ki baat ki toh maine uspe jawab diya. They are not best minds of India they are the best guided minds of India. Without guidance they are nothing.

Please don't generalise such statements and assume we come from super privileged background, majority of us actually cold emailed 1000s of professor and got rejected/ghosted by many but in the end we were hungry enough to gather sources which weren't available to us. This competition isn't limited to any specific state or community, anyone from India can apply! I have met so many students and friends in the national fair who actually made interesting projects all from scratch in their fields/homes and they do belong to underrepresented community but they don't let such things define them as an impactful person. About affordability, everything was funded by department of science and technology, govt. of India and other sponsors, not even a single penny from our parent's pocket and that goes for all :D
