I give so much credit to Ms. Poppins here. It would have been out of character had she broken down into an emotional wreck, and I have no idea how she managed not to! This interaction is truly one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

Just a little update on our little Paige. She's still in remission! If she can make it another couple years her odds of beating this disease increases dramatically. She is on year 4.....After 10 the will declare her cured. Thank you all for the kind words. We are blessed.

She is so darling! The actress who play Mary Poppins did so well to stay in character and not start crying. I hope your daughter is doing well.

I heard :"She watched her over and over again in the hospital.....she kept her going.." and before I knew it i was sitting in a pool of tears 8 feet deep. The 6 people who disliked this are evil demon bunnies.

Her story is a happy one....filled with hope. Happy tears. She's still in remission.

I love how Mary Poppins was so patient and loving with her hugs to this little girl. Beautiful!

I have a 3 year old daughter. The way she raised her arms up for that hug... it's the hug of familiarity. The hug of safety. Any parent could tell with just one look that Mary Poppins was like a second mommy to that little girl, in her eyes, and she Needed her to hold her, with a capital N. _Instant tears_ :'-)

His daughter had been in line before Paige but Mary walked straight to Paige first. I said sorry we cut in line and he said don't worry about it and went on later to say he was blessed to have witnessed the moment in person. He was tearing up also.

Her story is filled with hope. After her treatments were finished (2 yrs ago) her scans have been clean. One problem that she has is her broken arm. The radiation killed her left humerus and made it brittle. She fell and broke it up high and it won't heal. It has been broken for over a year but causes little pain. Because of her size the doctors are waiting to do surgery on the fracture until she gets older. We are blessed to still have her with us. Her prognosis was 30% after diagnosis.

The longer the hug went on, the more I just wanted to cry. This is the sweetest thing I think I have ever seen. Truly magical.

The best thing about working at Disney is seeing this happen every day. As a former character "Friend" I can honestly say that any day we meet these brave kids is a day we don't forget. It happens too often, but we were/are given the right to spend as much time with them as they please, whether it be five minutes or several hours. I remember vividly each and every Make-A-Wish child I met. This little girl is precious and I hope she makes a full recovery

I felt like I was living vicariously through Paige--it's been a long time since I've been held and had someone stroke my hair. Mary Poppins is such a tender, gentle soul. I'm glad your daughter got to experience such a loving moment.

I, too, found this video through Lindsay Ellis's video essay, and I while it's rare for me to cry, I could not stop the flow of tears while seeing this. I'm so happy to learn that Paige is doing well; seeing her so happy to be with Mary in this video is heart-enriching.

Paige is doing wonderful. She is dealing with the damage that radiation and chemo caused but we are thankful for every day we have with her. Today is her birthday....she is 12. :)

@@iafarmerken Just came across this video and I'm so glad to hear she's doing well, relatively speaking. A cousin of mine is a double survivor of leukemia and that chemo is awful. I can see why this moment meant so much to Paige. I couldn't imagine my nephew holding onto me for that long and not wanting to let go.

This is just precious.

It can probably be pretty heartbreaking too given that some of the children you encounter may not live. I couldn't do this, I would break down too easily.

Thank you for your kind words! Paige is doing great. We are keeping an eye out for the side effects of chemo and radiation but overall she is as good as we could have hoped. We make sure she knows about all the people that came to our aid when we were at our lowest. Bless you Nick.

GarlicPoncho no. I did tell her that during chemo when Page's heart rate would dip dangerously low we would play the step in time chimney video and she would perk up. worked every time.
