I don't have dreads YET but I'm looking forward to the day I'm able to!!! I have mad respect for you and this channel. I love the fact that you are willing to show love to other artists when many in this world are typically out to only further themselves. Many blessings and much success to you all 💜

I love you so much!!! I discovered Ashli through your page and after years of braid-ins and dreaming of real dreads you helped me find her IN MY TOWN! And this Thursday she will be doing a full permanent install on me and I’m just eeeeeek! So excited. Thank you for your Chanel and for showing love to other amazing artist (also my favorite thing about your videos-showing us how to style our dreads) you’re all such beautiful humans!!!

Natasha, how are your dreads doing? It's been 6 months right? It's been 14 months for me. I've never reached out to anyone else about their dreadlocks but I wanted to reach out to you because I thought maybe you'd be able to help each other or just talk about our experiences or maybe even offer each other's some tips!

I went to one of these ladies in Connecticut and I am not one to go on Facebook or Instagram or anything like that I think I follow for places total for Instagram dread stuff. So I'm in long-term recovery & I tend to not treat myself as good as I should. It was my dream to have dreadlocks for about 30 years because I am 42 years old and I've wanted them for as long as I can remember. So I went and made an appointment after searching for a couple of years with one of these ladies in Connecticut and emotionally it was really a very hard difficult and life-changing experience. First of all I spent $2,000 at my initial appointment exactly and they still have the receipts from Square. In total I saw her about 8 times in 6 months. She would constantly cancel appointments and she would not let me decide anything for my dreadlocks. Now she has a few dreadlocks underneath her hair but I'm not even sure those are real because I believe their yarn. She may have a couple dreadlocks underneath her hair but if she does not have them I don't care what anyone says you do not understand even if you do dreadlocks. I now do my own maintenance and I only saw her from July to January. I spent $1100 on transportation, $3400 with her & was left with the pic I am attaching. I had holes in my dreadlocks which I guess can happen in the front if you have glasses and they keep bumping them but I figured a way for that to be avoided maybe not altogether but more and when I told her I wanted them a little bit sicker because I thought it would help she started thickening them and then took my money to do them but only did a section of them and told me we would do the rest of the next appointment and then she blocked me and that was it. I now do my own maintenance but it's very hard because I can't reach the back of my head so I have these broken-down dreads in the back that I can't fix. Dreadlocks has been a very emotional journey for me because I don't do much for me so self care is a big endless journey, which for me, requires constant prayer, reminding myself I deserve it & so Im just really trying to stick with it & remind myself I am worth it 😢 I have an amazing beautiful heart and it took me years to really know that I was a great person and could be a great friend. She really just treated me really bad and just took advantage of my time and my money and I can't even talk about it without crying. So I just taught myself using Liz Kidder videos and Liza Jane videos. They don't know me personally but they have made a huge impact on my life because I realize that someone can help you without even realizing they're helping you so by leaving this message I want to let anyone know that has gone through similar things like this that you are worth it and that there are people that can help you even if it's just from watching their videos or reading reviews like this. You are worth it and your dreadlocks are worth it and you are beautiful and don't let anyone else tell you different, especially if you're in their chair paying them. I send peace & love without hate to everyone, even the person that I am referring to. Side note to dread person who did my hair: Suboxone does not get you high when you use it correctly especially when you use it to get off of opioids are opiates. Watch how you talk about other people when you're doing someone's hair. You are not educated in the field of addiction and you are not a professional from any standpoint. you have never been in this situation so you do not know in any way shape or form about addiction and it can be really hurtful when you are sitting in a chair and listening to the person doing your hair tear down others. You told me that your friend was going out with a girl that got out of detox and wanted to get on Suboxone so that she could stay clean from heroin and you told me that you told your friend that he needed to break up with her because she was just trying to get high off of anything and that's why she was getting on Suboxone. I am only repeating what you said so I'm not sure how accurate the information is but you told me that you told your friend that 'she was just trying to get high by getting on Suboxone' & that 'she's just a junkie.' you told me that your friend broke up with her and kicked her out of his house. That was one of the worst things I've ever heard someone say while they were doing my hair. Please don't hurt people like that because it s not okay. It's not okay as a woman and it's not okay as a human. You have hurt me in ways that you cannot even understand and I told you that I was going into my dreadlock journey and wanted you to be a part of it. It took me a long time to find you. You were chosen by me to be that tool to help me get started & to teach me. You were so preoccupied with what you thought was right you would not even listen. I have a difficult time speaking up to others and you really took advantage of that and you took advantage of my time and my money. I spent between 50 and $60 for each way to get there every time I saw you. I spent over $3300 with you in almost 7 months. You hurt me & I don't want you to do that to someone again. I'm still healing. You've made me not trust others to help me in my journey & you took advantage of my time, my money, & my heart. You saw a quiet, damaged bird & instead of helping me fly you wanted me to rely on you to even walk. You were hurtful & harmful emotionally & spiritually & I'm asking you to do some soul searching. Be honest and feel good about what you've accomplished. Grow with the help of the great people around you because you have teachers right there to help you. The most important information that I ever received in my bachelor's program to be able to help people with their mental health & addiction is as follows: Doubt everything you know or think you know. That is the only way you will ever gain real knowledge. THIS IS EVERYTHING. LOVE, LEARN, & LAUGH. YOU HURT ME BUT I FORGIVE YOU. ❤
