Meet the young people mobilizing Gen-Z ahead of the 2024 election

“Once you look back through history, it’s always been young people at the forefront of every movement, making the difference. And today is no different.”

Gen-Z and Millennials are often typecast as apathetic generations, likely to bow out of the political process due to disinterest in an increasingly partisan and frustrating landscape.
But how true is this stereotype? Young people have been at the forefront of nearly every political movement in history, and getting them to show up to defend democracy in the 2024 election is crucial.
Organizations like Rise and Forward Montana (part of the Alliance For Youth Organizing network) are building youth civic engagement and political power to help make a big change this next election cycle by registering voters and fighting voter suppression. With big stake issues like environmental justice, income inequality, racial justice, and the future of our democracy on the line, these power building groups are ensuring that the younger generation’s voices are heard.

What they mean by environmental justice is legislation for the same reasons that protestors are blocking the LA highway for this “green new deal” but what they don’t realize is; the “green new deal” is just a move by Biden to fulfill all the promises he made to China and was paid millions of dollars for it, secondly, the reproductive justice means they want to be allowed to kill babies in the womb and some people even want newborns murdered but what they don’t realize is: abortions tend to be more prevalent amount low income people, the poorest neighborhoods tent to be mostly minorities, i.e. people at the top and behind the scenes are using people’s emotional distress about voting for prochoice as a way to commit genocide right in front of our eyes.

There is an illusion that mass youth movements will change things to the better. The Red Guards of Mao beg to differ. If you are in college, it's also often assumed that you are, well, being educated to think logically. Some (not all) STEM students are, indeed. It's not enough to be passionate/jaded/desperate/etc. And sometimes it hurts more than helps.

Yes. And the formula is simple. Most of them actually are too stupid, and being stupid makes it temendously easy into getting duped into serving evil. Those who know how to pull their strings are their masters. And I have to admit their masters seem pretty good at what they do.

The problems we face, we commonly want to answer with more legislature. As we continue to decide that we need more governance and authority in the country, the more power the government will have to govern us. If we make hate speech a crime, criticism will be opened up to criminalization. If we decide the property rights of a woman triumph over the property rights of a child, we may decide also that the needs of the government take place over our youth. Then, the government will require more doctors when implementing government-funded healthcare, and so people will be forced to become doctors. At that point, the government should be the deciding force in what careers people play, since they are already deciding who should be a doctor. Just like how we should have free college, since we already have free primary schooling.

Slippery slope is a logical fallacy. Just because you see the potential for these things doesn't mean they will happen. You can use that flawed logic for both sides of any similar issue.

@@NSA-admin Just because the ski slope is covered in ice, and we're wearing skis, doesn't mean we'll slip to the bottom either. The problem with logical fallacies is that they are sometimes true, and their inverse are just as fallacious. If I jump out of a plane - then it's a near guarantee I am going to fall. If I'm on a slippery slope, then there's a good chance of me slipping down the slope. Likewise, even without a slope, we may still slip on nothing and fall flat on our face. If you would prefer a better argument, then I'll make an appeal to history - Nazi Germany had many economic problems, and believed the Jewish people to be the cause. So who carried out the holocaust? The government, or the people? What about the holodomor - the government, or the people? The alternative to my questions would be to imply some third group, or both groups, carried out both atrocities. Whilst the latter would *technically* be true, it's trying to leverage black & white and Middle Ground fallacies a bit too much. Otherwise, we can say cancer isn't caused solely by smoking, and ergo we shouldn't put the blame on smoking. Sorry, was I getting wordy there? In summary, fallacy fallacy. I supposed that if the government grows, the government would try to grow more. You did nothing to undermine my claim, because fallacies, and by extension fallacious logic, is sometimes correct.
