You might have seen Bryan Johnson on TikTok or in your Reels feed. He’s the man who spends $2 million every year to slow his speed of aging…and shares all of that information for free.
To slow down his aging, Johnson has tried some pretty extreme stuff like transfusions of his teenage son's blood plasma (a practice he has since abandoned due to its ineffectiveness). He maintains a strict adherence to a meticulously calculated plant-based diet, and consumes over 100 supplements daily.
What propels this relentless pursuit of immortality? We found out while filming our Hard Reset episode, where we tested Bryan Johnson's biohacking routine, and listened to him explain his philosophy for a healthier, longer future for humanity.

he's clearly having fun doing all this. he's living a life where he does what he wants and has fun doing it: trying to hack death. all the people saying "oh but is he really living..." yes, duh, of course he is. he's a rich man having fun trying to advance science and not slaving away at a wage-labor day job. he's having a good time, clearly.

@@puzzardosalami3443 There is a historical precedent for this type of patient N study already. In 1984 Professor Barry Marshall was not authorized to test on human patients so he infected himself with H. Pylori then successfully treated himself with antibiotics and went on to win the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize. Additionally, in 1796 Edward Jenner tested his hypothesis for a Cow Pow cure on James Phipps, the eight-year-old son of his gardener. Less ethical imo than testing on himself, but it still was an occurrence of a self-imposed patient N example.

I can't even get doctors to listen to me about my Dad fully recovering (albeit only a handful of hours, which proves my CSF removal theory as being the fix) a long-term chronic mystery illness following a lumbar puncture for something totally unrelated & this guy can get all of this done simply due to $$. We live in a sick society where $ rules, so it doesn't matter if you figure all of this out only certain people can play the game. Trust me, if I was related to this guy my Dad would be home right now not in a rehabilitation center unable to rehab because he can't stay awake they won't send him out to be evaluated until he's "outpatient" but that's if he can even stay awake enough to rehab to get out to get to a neurologist to be properly evaluated. A sick system sicker than any illness we've got!

Look, I'm not saying that this research and these programmes are worthless... But if your goal is to add as many years of good health to the current human population for as cheap as possible (having money over for other projects for prosperity) as soon as possible, I think you should be focused on bringing everyone on this Earth: 1. A good standard of universal public healthcare, 2. Safe working conditions, 3. Clean environments free from eco and health toxins, 4. Good nutritious food and 5. Local, national and international peace. These efforts will have a greater effect on the human population than any effort exerted trying to extend the years of good health to the people who already are living the longest and healthiest of all countries. Yes, we have our own health problems in the rich world but they pail in comparison to that of the problems that the poor countries and of the poor people in rich countries face.

A method that might help the mental health of the human race. It seems it might promote activity in the frontal cortex. It's free and fairly simple. Combine: - Maintained focus on a sound and image in your mind instead of idle thoughts - Breathe fully and steadily through nose to provide oxygen to the brain - Allow the physical sensations of difficult emotions to run their course if they arise, if you can help it. To process the emotion, sometimes fairly quickly - It helps to avoid expectations from this process Recommended to practice a few minutes every few hours, or at least a little bit everyday. You might sense the benefits within the hour, with the right efforts.

I have to say I commend him, but I looked awesome at 46 with a very random lifestyle. I was a PT for 30 years before I retired so I've always exercised, but always enjoyed red wine and a lot of high fat food. You gradually, naturally as you age cut down on stuff. You can't gorge, you can't binge drink as you age, so it balances out naturally. I got to 69 and someone said 'wait till you hit 70. And I was like 'I'm a beast, it will make no difference. Au contraire. It's like falling off a cliff. The allotted lifespan? Three score years and ten? They knew it! So I won't be around to see it but I bet anything he won't be chirruping when he hits 70. It pains me to admit it. I thought I was invincible. Nature said 'NO! You'll fall apart like every other bugger on this planet.

High fat is only a problem if you consistently mix too much fat and carbohydrates in the same rough time period. One or the other is not nearly as bad. Carbohydrates shouldn't really be eaten in isolation long term its actively damaging to your body and is lacking is fat-soluble nutrients...

@@Mallchad I fully agree. I prefer fat to carbs so never eat high density carbs like bread and pasta and rice (never understood pasta and rice. It's only the addition of fat that makes them palatable!) So my diet has always been, meat, fat and veg. Or just meat and fat and a drink of those powdered greens so I don't have to eat veg! Also. we eat way too many carbs for our lifestyle. When we were physical beings and hand ploughed fields and walked miles a day to get anywhere it was fine. Yes, I understand that he may look younger, but that's probably a byproduct of being a Millionaire. We have to worry about making enough money to pay our rent. Worrying about utility bills. Worrying about gas prices. Worrying about car maintenance. Worrying about food prices. Worrying about having to pay for medical bills. Worrying about keeping our jobs (that most of us don't like). And that's without factoring in a wife and kids, which adds an entire different category of WORRY! Most people's lives are filled with STRESS because of the need to make money to survive. This stress is an ongoing "background" to most people's lives. This is what makes people look and feel old in many cases. If I could buy whatever I wanted whenever I wanted and not have to WORRY about the cost my stress level would plummet. If I could afford to own a house and not have a mortgage it wouldn't add any undue stress to my life. If I didn't have to worry about getting sick and not being able to afford to pay for treatment or having to file for bankruptcy, then that would be much less STRESS. I find it hilarious when people who don't have to worry about making a living tell us what we're doing wrong and how to fix it and surprisingly it's never FREE! I don't think I could afford to buy 100 supplements to take each day, not to mention the rest of his malarkey. If you want people to live longer, healthier, happier lives all you have to do is swallow your pride and admit that there are countries out there that are doing a better job for their citizens than the USA. Take a look at the Scandinavian countries that are already doing that. They provide healthcare from birth to death, a national retirement payment that allows you to live (not just survive - see social security), education through college or vocational/technical school, some include a per diam during college so you don't have to work so that you can concentrate on your education, government mandated vacation time, sick time, and holidays that follow you from job to job, paid maternity and paternity leave. And the push back is always that their tax rates are much higher than here in the USA. YES, they are, but they get so much more for their tax money. So much so, that they are happy with their education, jobs, healthcare, and in general their lives. The STRESS levels of the average person are so much lower because they don't have to worry about these things. All you have to do is look at medication as a guide. When a pharmaceutical company creates a new medicine they charge through the nose for it to help pay the research costs. So if a treatment is developed that will slow again do you think you'll be able to go down to the local drug store and buy it for less than $10. No, of course not. The only people that will be able to afford it are the Millionaires.

Lots of hate here, and it's sickening how people can look at this and say things like "oh, he's so horrible, this guy is disgusting, he needs Jesus, not child blood." So allow me to say something here: Many of us are so much worse than this guy, and if we had all our actions revealed to us, we would be ashamed beyond shame. And I can only assume he got consent from his son about the transfusion thing. This guy may be using an algorithm or pre-determined program to help improve his health, but he's also doing it with intention. Many religions say things along the lines of "don't sin," and yet people use the same excuse to justify sin. "Oh, you're not living if you don't sin a little, so eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die, and it will be well with us. But oh, I don't wanna be religious because then I gotta follow all these rules." People, people, if you're so uptight about someone taking away their own free will, then maybe you should start interventions against drugs, alcohol, gambling, and EVERY OTHER KIND OF ADDICTION, that is objectively worse, as they also contribute to health problems, and mental problems. Plus, intolerances "remove" some of these choices anyway. He can choose to stop at any time. But he's decided that he's not going to stop. Ever. And the best part: he's using the data he gets to help everyone else. So maybe instead of hating against this one rich guy that is helping humanity, we can focus that mental energy on something else, like how to improve our neighborhoods.

I've done the homework in youtube comments enough times that I'm not going to find and link all the studies like I usually do. Given how "pale" is evidence to you of unhealthy, I will guess that you are not a trained doctor or scientist. But to use this as an excuse to dismiss anything you say would not actually be logical. So with that, let me spell it out for you. Appeal to nature and the behavior of animals is not logical. Nor is the appeal to ancestry, culture, the limited options of deserted islands, the hunting needs of indigenous tribes, or the unintentional deaths of land animals from growing plant crops (over 75% of which are produced to feed livestock.) Again, to beat a dead horse, but there is ZERO logically sound argument that justifies participating in unnecessary harm and death towards sentient beings with the capacity for fear, pain, and trauma.
