Meet the Porcupine You Can't Touch: America's 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit

Meet the Porcupine You Can't Touch: America's 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit
The 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit is Special Operations Capable (26th MEU (SOC)). It is an Air-Ground Task Force with a strength of 2200-2400 Marines at full strength which are organized into Battalion Landing Teams (BLTs), a Combat Logistics Battalion (CLB), a Combat Logistics Detachment (CLD), and a Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) for aviation support. It has deployed extensively and is known for its capability to swiftly project power and respond to a wide range of missions including Combat Operations, Disaster Relief, and Humanitarian Assistance. It is a potent, forward-deployed, and crisis response force that can be rapidly tailored to meet the specific needs of many different missions or theaters of operations. They are forward-deployed aboard amphibious assault ships (LHDs or LHA), which give them the flexibility, mobility, and firepower needed to conduct their missions. The 26th MEU is a highly adaptable and rapidly deployable force that can respond to any crisis and conduct operations virtually anywhere in the world.

I did my time in the military. In my day this WAS our military. Now its not. This is not what our military really is today. Our military now is a bunch of spoiled little man children who when they dont get what they want they cry......and our military will appease them. They are more concerned with making sure people dont hurt their feelings rather than training to fight the enemy. If we end up in a world war our military wont be able to stop them. If you think im lying just wait.

So are these pretty much the guys, the MEU, who would be fighting if America had to get involved with Hezbolah? Seems like such a high level of expertise unit, I don't see who else even could off a few weeks notice.

Yeah the naval strike groups you hear about off the coast of Israel have about 2k Marines like these. Thats what makes the Marines what they are. They are part of the naval "package" They are soldiers of the sea. Its the package that makes the Marines unique. Air, land, sea, ready to go.

I am jealous, 0300s receive better gear now than when I was in ... lol. I still don't think we should have given up the tanks for more budget to the infantry, instead give more budget to the Corps so the infantry could have the best gear and training. Of course, there are still improvements to be made such as remove woke from the Corps vocabulary, add Kudo along with sparring to MCMAPP, less field day more Kudo and Range Time, and covert to quality gas piston bullpup rifles with a good trigger - no need for SBRs or folding/adjustable stocks as seen in the video.
