Zapad je vekovima samo zbog pljačke i porobljavanja tlacio celu Afriku i pola Azije a danas se hvale standardom koji su dostigli pijući tudju krv. Srbija je samo u dva rata u 20 veku svoju slobodu platila životima 1/3 ukupnog stanovništva. Bogu hvala, po ko zna koji put Srbija staje na svoje noge i ako nas zapad sve zajedno po 3 put ne dovede do velikog rata, živećemo i prosperirati u miru.

Poor? It really depends. Read this people, more knowledge can never hurt! In terms of national budget it is poor. But ask yourself WHY? Serbia has a solid budget for it's own size! But people always compare it to 5x larger countries, just compare the size of the Germany with Serbia. What about life standard? I can't say I ever felt poor at all in the last 10 years. I can do and pay everything electronically, health care is free, I can get out of my apartment in middle of the night walk safely and buy cigarattes in 4am or get a beer because there's always something working all night (it's called a night city for a reason), I can get a taxi via app and check real-time destination, price and direction. If I'm hungry there are not hundreds but thousands of restaurants and fast foods from which I can get delivery from, seriously there's literally all types of food here. If I want to relax I can rent cheap wekeend house surrounded by wild nature, 30mins drive. If I wanna go out, well it's one of the Europe's best party cities you can imagine what it has (it has everything). There's everything for everyone, even people who are poor or saving money get quality because all places are decorated so well that it's hard to make a difference between normal and elite place. Speed trains, new modern roads (I even think there's too much of them), great infrastructure, globally acknowledged universities, etc. Serbia is a fully modern and technologically advanced country, it's a common misinformation and stereotype that it's a third world country. All those people who shit-talk over internet are the ones who haven't actually lived or visited Serbia. If you've met Serbs you would know our biggest flaw: complexes. Serbs would rather save up money for whole week and spend it all in one go on clothes and fancy restaurants then dress and drink/eat average for 5 days. *Got a bit off topic but

Great vireo. Just for Christmas, as other religious holidays, are based on Julian calendar (mans, in Serbia Christmas is on 7th January, while in west it is 25th December, two weeks apart). Badnjak (oak tree branches) are burned at midnight before 7th to symbolize giving warmth to new born Christ. Christmas trees are a new fad of global 20th century, most of Serbian grandparents never knew of such tradition.

Serbia has 12k USD per capita and that is 3x more than really poor countries such as Bangladesh, Thailand, Indonesia, India, most of African and S.American countries. Even in Europe Sebia is just behind some EU countries.
