This is a monster of a ship. As a Cruiser main this is likely to become one of my favorite ships. Honestly, if you like the Minotaur then you'll like this ship. As long as you use your head and dont get caught out in the open it is devastating to enemy ships. But it is NOT a brawler, even though Spartan didnt get dev struck in it, dont get too complacent, Plymouth is definitely a glass cannon, get caught in the open by a BB and it is a very short trip back to the port. However like the Mino, play it smart, stay hidden and you will shred enemy ships, ANY and ALL enemy ships. As an example, my first game in the ship was 206k damage and 3780 XP and just shy of 800k silver, not to say that that is every game but it is capable of putting up massive numbers. I predict that this ship will be nerfed in short order. I'd put this ship on par if not better than OG Weimar.

You know why we all love to watch spartan? Not only is he extremely informative, but he keeps it real. Any creator who chokes on their own spit then leaves to get water , would edit that out..not spartan, he's like , screw it.

The odd-one-out British heavy cruiser you're thinking of is the tier 6 Cheshire, which has 9.2 inch/234mm guns. When they eventually get around to adding the Tier 8 British ships, I'm guessing Drake will be the follow on from Albermarle - and it carries the same type of guns.

Nice video a good learning one for starting players. First how a 228MM, or 8in gun can punch though the ship common on a lot of Cruiser on tier VI and up, and lower to I think. So the Cheshire a Tier VI one tier under Plymouth can yeet you with her 234mm or 9in guns not even battleship yet. This is something I think new players should always look out for. I do, Which most do not, as they just look at tier of the enemy ship, if its lower they think easy win, if higher they run off to the back of the map. Instead of thinking if hey do I overmatch here? Can this ship hurt me if they do fire? It always seems to come down to it with most players who refuse to learn. Either they or the enemy have the higher tier ship so attack or run. Because most think if it is a lower tier ship it can not hurt you. But that is wrong as some can, and well yeet if givin the chance look at the Queen Elizabeth vs the Colorado. Plus on the same Tier as the Plymouth you got the Azuma with her 310mm or 12in guns first BB size guns, showing again not all ships are equal.

Spartan, I can not implore you any harder to go with the stealth radar build. Teaming with destroyers that will lay smoke for you, add in the ambush radar to catch the enemy DD's in a trap they can not escape from this ship is the most obscenely OP ship Wargaming has ever released. I mean JESUS it is a Belfast with an extra gun per turret AND torpedoes. You SHOULD have a win rate in-between 70 and 80% in this thing.

Uh no. Just no. Sit down and be quiet. You're ruining the attempt to gather actual data. The vast majority of people will not use the ship to the fullest ability. It's a glass Canon. It's pretty well balanced at the tier. Had the radar and smoke been simultaneously available I'd agree at tier 7 way OP. Not the case with this release.

Works well in divs, but Spartan is mostly a solo player and you cant rely on your team mates then.

lot of dds are selfish solo players that dont recognize the value of team work .. specially like that stupid dd i had on my team the other day didn't evem bother capping 😒 was sailing for 12mins trying to hunt the carrier

I had a blast with this cruiser and is perfect for countering destroyers and support roles I had so much fun even in a loss just beware of stopping and going that can get u in trouble like all british cruisers

Hello Spartan, thanks for the amazing video once again, I wanted to use the 70% discount on the HMS Belfast, but unfortunately she not available at the moment, only in the bundle, I sent a ticket to WG asking if it will come in this update, the said that since she's already available in the bundle, that they will not put alone like the "normal" ones. Perhaps in the near future they will add it to the store along with the other British ships, so for me I wanted to choose something in the same "line" it was difficult to choose, but I'm the end I take the chance with the HMS Plymouth, and men oh men, I use your advice for the inspirations as well, thank you so much it is a really very good ship overall. I play mostly the Japanese American and German, but this one is my new best favorite. 🇨🇭🇵🇹

Tbull posted an 8 kill game in this ship. She's scary and if I was a better cruiser player I'd be tempted but she's around £50 and I just can't afford that. All British CAs mount 8" guns, while all CLs mount 6" guns, the Dido Class CLs mount 5.25" but they are AA cruisers. Invest in a copy of Jane's ships of WW2👍

I bought this ship knowing a nerf will come but ai played 2 games it last night after working for 10 hours and getting home at almost midnight and I still put up 3k base xp the first game with a bad team.

An interesting video of an interesting ship but, judging by how WG says in the store page that 'current values may be changed for 'balance', it's gonna get nerfed hard. Like from steel hull ship to foam hull and cannon shells to foam darts.

Doubt it'll be nerfed because while it is strong most people much like Mino will simply get dev struck in it balancing out good games with awful games

This thing has so little armor that AP just overpens, it doesn't citadel, as you always say "no armour is the best armour"

Spartan, where did you get the equation for the thickness of the armor, of which MM gun can pen?

Overmatching take the armor thickness and multiply by 14.3 Or you can take gun size in mm and divide by 14.3 to get the armor thickness you guns overmatch

I had it in may alabama kild 2 guns of it but did not kil it it is a rng schip

Spartan do you or anybody else reading this have some tips for acquiring and leveling up commanders quickly? Grinding to 900K to buy a commander and then the XP to level them to 16 is extremely lengthy. Yet I see spartan along with others with multiple maxed out commanders. Am I missing something? Thanks guys.

Get the weekly mission done every week, a bundle in the store let's you get 3 commander crates for 10.5 mil credits and I believe that resets every week, save your CXP for going up the ranks initially and once you feel confident with your roster you can start spending the 900k CXP for a specific commendation. It's at slow grind and I wished WG would add better ways to get promotion orders. Hope it helps

The ship looks great that radar is amazing but We we’re thinking the same thing. This radar is op let’s give it to a t7 premium instead. Go figure wargaming. Your not slick but anyway can’t decide between agile Plymouth or agile witchita to replace balti. She’s a great ship but lacks in the agility department she’s agile ish not by much

I think its perfectly balanced for t7 powerful guns Yes.... but thats it like Minotaur u have the Guns but 1 little small Move and you are OUT!!! Plymouth dont takes wrong moves on the light side. And in all honesty Minotaur just has AP, what others call OP is litterly the Gimmick of Minotaur Fiji Edingburgh and now Plymouth... If u get the Chamce shoot at Plymouth and take it out as fast as Possible like the Mino out there and ur Good.

I have her, she's awesome. I do think the overall package is too strong, compared to the Edinburgh she lost a bit of manoeuvrability, tons of armour,, slightly worse AA and worse heal but.... better reload and more guns and had they stopped at that it would have been fine They should not have also given her a longer range (9.9km) radar, allowing her to stealth radar (with the right setup), extra torps and a bit more hit points. She still would have been strong and a rebalance could potentially happen but in the state they released her a nerf is nailed on (but you never know with WG, they do weird shit) I'd expect a reload nerf to the same as Edinburgh and/or a rank up to tier 8. But this is WG we are talking about, they could do anything, they aren't the best at balancing (ship or tanks). I kinda hope not as she's really fun to play but I understand if they do, just hope they don't ruin her if they do nerf her.

I'm in the camp that claims this ship is fine as is. See, people automatically think just because on the first day of release that it's getting these crazy scores that that means it's OP, I don't. Once people start focusing it down like they do with ships like Mino it won't be as likely to get such huge scores. Especially with each T8 release proving to be more and more powerful I wouldn't be surprised if in the next few months we will be looking back and wondering how we thought Plymouth was OP

Hitting the target with as many shots is always a good thing, wouldnt you agree ..? Well based on that why wouldn't you run norm Scott instead of von Essen.....hummmmm I find Angles are not as important as shells hitting the target Maybe it's just me

I don't think DM needed a nerf. I can think of a few light dpm cruisers that deserved a nerf before DM.

1v1 vs Iowa typical reminder of how BBS are helpless against cruisers. He shoots gets nothing but gets to watch his health disappear. If the ship had HE he would still burn to death. That's balance

And then people wonder why battleships hunker down in the back of the map. With the tendency of overpens against most cruisers being so commonplace right now it's tough playing a battleship. I used to be a BB main but find myself transitioning more and more towards cruisers simply to be able to have some impact on the game and help my team. 2/3rds of the time in a battleship I just feel like a massive floating HP farm were I can't help but think these huge 14, 16, or even 18in guns are more of a liability and I'd be better off replacing them with like 20 or 30 rapid fire 6 or 8in guns and just dmping everything to death. World of Warships is the only navel game I know that treats small cruiser guns as more damaging than big battleship guns.

What is funny is in the first match you got 86k damage and were top of the leaderboard so you probably think you played a great game. From a strategic point of view it was a terrible game. Farming damage off of battleships at rage is a waste of that ship. You need to be up close with the DD's assisting them in eliminating the other teams DD's and cruisers trying to prosecute your teams DD's. Working with a DD and using a stealth, ambush radar build this ship will have a HUGE disproportionate effect on the outcome of matches.

Speaking as someone who splits his time mostly between cruisers and battleships sometimes famining/harassing battleships is all you can do for the moment where rushing in after destroyers would be almost certain, and instant, death.

While you're not wrong I still affected the entirety of the match on all flanks and as stated it was my first game in the ship so a bit of a feeling out period

So WOW Legends release this completely OP ship, which we now know can be nerfed, for silly money. 45 quid for a ship is obscene regardless of considering oneself as being a wallet warrior or not. Why not fix match making and fix shells falling short than release this horseshit in the game.
