Hi, and thank you, that's just what I needed today. A good day but a day spent electronically needlepointing 1830s Germany for episode 3. Cheers :)

I just found this video by chance, but I LOVE your delivery! A little sarcasm, a little irreverent and very educational. As an American I will say I didn’t always get all the British slang you use, but I got the gist. Just subscribed, thank you for great content!

Thank you :) That is where I was aiming with the commentary so it's great to get some positive feedback. Also glad you're getting the slang from context. Aware that at times I do not make that easy. Thanks for the sub :)

An excellent and very good look into the royal family from back then! :) I really love that you don't just reiterate facts but also give commentary and categorize them to our standards!

Good God! That Bertie didnt smother his mother at the first opportunity was a massive moral victory on his part. What a horrible upbringing.

Really a great, informative 20 minute video. I loved all the art & information that made it easy to understand. I really liked the interpersonal details. I never realized they had so many children! Thanks!

Thank you :) I started out trying to make it a podcast, but showing the relationships visually is just so much better than constantly reminding the viewer who this particular person is, and where they stand in relation to the others. Glad the visuals are working for you and thank for the comment.

Bertie and his future grandson and namesake Bertie or Albert III rather (later King George VI) were both naturally left handed which just was unheard of back then and 'improper'

Albert and Victorias parenting style and affection for their kids (at least by Albert) had a lot to do with the horrible childhood experiences both had had. In Victoria's case "The Kensington System" and in Albert's having a parents who both cheated on each other and a mother who was banished from court when he was 5 and who likely never saw him again. I'm guessing they both were of that "I'm never going to let my kids go through what I had to" concept with varying degrees of success at actualizing it. FWIW.

Hi there :) The name Mountbatten got adopted in 1917, when even the youngest of them (Dickie) was already 17 years old. The bottom line is we're not there yet, but these are the origins of the Mountbatten family in 1843, on the maternal side. The Princess Alice I talk about was Dickie Mountbatten's grandmother, Queen Victoria his Great Grandmother. First Mountbatten that ended up being called Mountbatten (Louis - Dickie's dad) gets born next episode.
