Meet the Grandmother of Churros
80 year-old Charo Salguero Venegas is a big name in the Spanish town of El Puerto de Santa María. Why? She makes the best churros in the world. Known all around town as ‘Grandmother Churros’, her dedication to the delicious treat has even been recognised by the mayor, with a plaque in the town square.
Her recipe goes back generations, but Charo has perfected it over the past seven decades. And now, she’s passing all her churros-making wisdom onto her son Alonso and grandchildren.

I would say “of course you just don’t tell your parents” is the second most grandmother sentence … I concede that this may not apply to everyone as my grandma is wildly irresponsible so we have lots of “don’t tell” moments
"miguita" in the context means crumbs, she says she won't give the kids crumbs even if they don't have money, they get churros regardless

There is nothing better than a grandmother’s love of cooking from the heart.
She found something that she loves to do and has been blessed enough to still be doing it for 70 years. That is what life is all about, and she is living the best one :)
What an absolute rockstar. I hope I can be as disciplined as her when I get that old.
This kind of stuff is true culture, getting to know the hearts of memories in these countries. Just imagine how many people over her 70 years working that business had many memories of having fun with that food or get it in times of dispar. Also pretty sure I can use this for Spanish experience because it’s about Spain Churros.

A ver... Es verdad que el de esta mujer es un acento muy cerrado, pero no es un ejemplo normal ni de "los andaluces" ni siquiera de los gaditanos. Es como si te vas a un pueblito de Galicia o de Asturias y entrevistas a un abuelito, la mitad de veces tampoco lo vas a entender 😂 no generalicemos con el andaluz anda

In a part of Indonesia called west java, we has my own churros called "coconut roots" ("akar kelapa"). Its similar like churro, little bit sweeter and smaller in size....
