Fun fact: These were actually the rabbit breed used in the teletubbies to make them look normal sizes next to the giant costumes. They were apparently also humping each other alot on set so much that they actually had to reshoot scenes. This was because the breeder had not neutered them.

I cannot imagine the grocery bill buying all that hay and vegetable stuff. You really need a small hobby farm to grow your own. My two rabbits together weigh under 10 pounds and rule the roost. These guys are a wee too big for me but are gorgeous.

Rabbits are extremely expensive to feed. I have flemish and lops and yes, a farm area for hay and greens. My rabbits are pellet free free range 14 acres and they are as much work as dogs.

It's funny cause this dude thinks he's holding the bunny. When really the giant bunny is holding him.

a friend of mine use to raise these. it was a fun experience holding one until it kicked the shit outta my chest.

In reality they don't make good meat rabbits as a general rule. When they dress out the meat to bone ratio is not the greatest. Breeds like the New Zealand and Californian are much better.

I have a female Flemish, her name is Cinnamon Toast. She is about 23 lbs and is like a toddler. Love her to bits.

My neighbour used to have this rabbit and would sometimes roam to my house once in a while. Such a huge fluffy faka and rude for not accepting my carrots offerings. Still cute though. 9/10 will never stop gently throwing carrots when I see him

Rabbits are Omnivores feed the chungus some chicken or fish, they will eat lizards and cockroaches as well even bones if it's soft enough.

Those rabbits remind me of the rabbit we used to have at the farm I work at. Same color too. Her name was Luna because in the full moon light her fur turns white.

minami chan12_ that aren’t necks or chins, it is a lot of hair only present on female rabbits, the rabbits take hair from there to build a “nest” when they are about to become pregnant.

I actually had a regular rabbit years ago that DID like laying on it's back... but it was a weirdo... ended up dying from eating under-arm deodorant. My dad was in a rush that day and just tossed it onto the counter... it fell off.

My rabbit lays on his back when sleeping. Flemish Giants don't have fears like smaller breeds..trust me I bred Flemish Giant and Mini Rex, and Flemish Giants are VERY brave and tackle their challenges.

ReadySetJett a rabbit lying himself on his back isint the same as you forcing him to do it. It elevates their heart rate and can cause heart attack. Again the reason they go motionless is their fear reaponce, same as they stop moving when you put a bright lamp on them when hunting. 'Oh but my bunny dosent feel fear when i put him in the most vulnerable state possible' yes he dose and your torturing him. Its akin to the difference between u swimming under water and someone holding you under water.

Tanyell Palumbo, What happened to them? ♥️ He kept mentioning meat, not a great thing to go on about. We need more Laws of protection for all Bunnies. THEY 'RE incredible creatures, with strong emotional bonds. Mothers, Husbuns, babies, they' re so clean and the Earth needs them as they give structure to the Earth, more so than any other creatures.

I got a french lop kit a month ago and he is by far the strangest dog I have ever had. And here I thought my bassets were oddballs. Shout out from Helena, I dig the hat.

I've always thought of the dewlap as a built-in nap pillow!

@@rom7245 Sure. I worked at a farm feed store. Every week almost (especially Easter) people came and got bunnies for their little kids. The little boys had a habit of taking little baby bunnies home and squeezing them to death or throwing them. Parents actually had the nerve to bring the dead or dying baby bunnies back to the store and ask for a refund like they were some toy. Even more people dump bunnies in a shelter or kick them out of the house when they realize they grow up and actually need to be taken out of their cages. Broke my heart since I own a bunny (I have an Opal Lilac rex mix) so I stopped working there. We actually had a lady that worked there part time who was part of the ASPCA and she quit as well because she hated the way customers came in and scared the bunnies half to death. Baby bunnies are very delicate, shy, and often times try to jump out of people hands. That's why the holding pens we put them in had LIDS and signs that said DO NOT TOUCH. Parents would ignore them and just grab the bunnies out and hand them to their kids. The worst idea was when they made the open running area for the bunnies. It was nice and big and had walls made of hay around it... and then corporate said we could let kids climb in it! The kids chased the baby bunnies and scared them half to death. Several lost their fur, had stress attacks, or just died. And don't get me started on how many got sick from kids feeding them popcorn. Bunnies are not dogs. You're not supposed to be rough with them. They are delicate living creatures and they will let you know when they want to be played with. People just don't get that. Poor babies...

My French Lop Candy had the exact same coloring. They are so sweet!

Flemish giants are the best for pets, I find them to be way smarter, mellow, affectionate and have bigger personalities then allot of the smaller breads of rabbits and almost like a chill dog. I don't know why that is but I think inbreeding might be a factor but I have also only bin able to find them from people who bread them for meat and then sell them on the side as pets so they only kept the parents and the babies are alway sold or eaten.

TheShadowofDormin little bunnies tend to be more wild. I used to volunteer with a bunny rescue and man those little ones are first. My little dwarf bun is the rudest bunny. I love her so much but man, shes rude, hates her little box and shes a grumpster.

I have never experienced what you describe and I've had rabbits for years. I these rabbits are independent and would rather be left alone. Comments like your deceived me into buying one, now I'm stuck with a rabbit I can barely pet and ruins my house with pee and poop. Not all Flemish giants stop this behavior after being fixed. You have no idea what your buying until it matures.
