    Nice review. A major factor behind my purchase of a different Litecloth was the fact that Intellytech picks up the phone. They are extremely prompt with replies. It made me feel that if something went wrong, I'd probably have some options.

    I'm really looking forward to picking the 6fc up. I have a few of the RGB 2x2 2.0's that have become a standard in my kit despite the somewhat frame annoying construction, reduced output, and more limited control compared to my more expensive lights. They are problem solvers and generally get the job done with a very reduced footprint compared to standard fixtures. This 3.0 version seems to fix most of the problems. I hope the construction keeps the LED's from failing. I also want to mention that Intellytech was extremely responsive to warranty and repairs when I had issues. In fact, they responded quicker and solved the problem far faster than I had expected or was used to from other companies. I really great company with very cost effective designs that fit my needs better than most of their competitors.

    Yes, I checked whether the included clamp would make it around 1 1/4 speedrail. It didn’t quite make it, so not quite as wide as a lightning clamp. Nevertheless, glad to have a clamp included😉

    I have the 2.0, now I wish I had the 3.0! I really wish the Kelvin went below 3000 to make it warmer, but they really solved the janky rigging on the 2.0. I wish there was a way to update mine and get those rigging straps attached as I am keen on practicing sustainability and giving a long life to everything I buy. Thanks for reviewing this product and giving an American company some exposure.

    Hear you on sustainability. The added color would allow you to warm in HSI mode, but probably not with the same output. Maybe find an industrial sewer and sew belt-lettes on? I found a sewer of boat sails who could reenforce some ailing soft boxes. 🙂

    Nice review, thanks! I'd been crious about these since they've been released. Now curious about their crmx future 😂 Thanks for mentioning the service and repairability angle! It's not talked about enough and I've had great support from Intellytech, notably with a shipping snafu at B&H who did nothing at all to help. Should have just ordered direct in the first place! Particularly with small practicals, people have to demand user-replaceable batteries, but support for the bigger lights is a must too.

    I’m not very good at making profiles for new lights, but with some help from patient friends we managed to create a Blackout profile that gives you access to all of the modes. It requires a wireless receiver at the moment, so the crmx version will be a nice option. There is a free app available as well🙂

    Thanks , first video of the 6 Ive seen , mines on order , hopefully get it this month , I think it's the Goldilocks size for location interviews as a key . I have the 160 , which packs down amazingly small, but just a little bit too small for wider A camera interview shots. This 6 panel should be good. I like the 8 but Im often in smallish rooms and I think it's just a bit too big for many of them.

    It’s probably just me needing to stretch and attach the Velcro better. It tends to be the nature of put-together flex units, they are just not going to be as ridged as hard mats; you give up some rigidity for packed form factor and over all versatility.

    Those are hampers! Like laundry or mail hampers. They come in different sizes, with choice of wheels. I was first introduced to them as something used in NYC, where equipment rental houses would deliver your gear in hampers. In my memory, Alan Steinheimer brought the practice from NYC to the Bay Area about 30 years ago and now we all have a hamper or two as a grab-all for all the things that don’t fit on a purpose built cart.

    www.californiacaster.com/products/carts/?c_id=basket-carts&cat=Carts You choose the volume based on bushels. Mine are quite small and are only 8 bushels. On Alan Steinheimer’s recommendation I also swapped out the small wheels that come with it for larger wheels. They are very sturdy and even take years of ratchet strapping. I’m not sure what they would be called in Canada, but I would check with industrial laundry or mail supply businesses or maybe a similar caster company?

    I have an LC160 RGBWW 2.0 and a Light Cannon 485, and Intellytech was great to deal with when both needed service. They’re in Denver, and I shipped directly there. Unfortunately, both products needed service for issues that more robust products don’t suffer from. I love the company’s customer service, and they always seem to have really innovative ideas at affordable prices, but in my experience, they’ve been fragile.

    What was the issue?

  • @MrAndrewClaycomb

    @MrAndrewClaycomb

    Жыл бұрын

    The Light Cannon overheated once when an electric set it up and accidentally switched the fan off. It hit thermal cutoff, but it was too late and developed a really bad flicker. The Light Cloth 2.0 power connector became disconnected internally because it’s just a plastic nut threaded onto a plastic barrel. But I pulled it out of the B&H box with it loose like that. It was an easy fix, but still… The Light Cloth 2.0 also has a bunch of other issues that could be fixed with firmware, but I think Intellytech has moved on to this 3.0 model.

    With this 3.0 version did they fix it so that when you dim the fixture up and down, the green/magenta emitters also dim up and down? My biggest gripe with 2.0 is those emitters are at a fixed brightnesss, so the green/magenta feature is pointless at low and high intensities.
