Whereas we might be familiar with the 'Inner Critic' as an internalisation of messages we have received about ourselves in the past, this short video introduces the Flagellating Overcontroller. This is a Coping Mode which punishes us to fulfil multiple functions - whilst hiding the truth of who we are and how we feel from ourselves. Its a very clever mode!
