Meet the Coach Who Shaped Gukesh's Historic Win! | GM Vishnu on Gukesh Winning the Candidates

Спорт

GM Vishnu Prasanna has been coaching D Gukesh since 2017, aiding him in various aspects of chess both on and off the board. He accompanied Gukesh to the Chennai Olympiad, where Gukesh excelled and earned a gold medal. In 2024, after Gukesh became the youngest player to win the Candidates and challenge for the World Championship, we visited Vishnu's academy in Chennai to discuss this achievement. Later, Vishnu also went to the airport to welcome Gukesh. Watch the interview!

Kudos to Vishnu of course (not sure if he was also a RB Ramesh student like Srinath Narayanan - different approach to Ramesh looks like) VERY deep! Liked it .... But @ChessBaseIndiaChannel - careful there with the questions - Ding, the 100-game streak guy - is watching! [Guy who beat MC famously, I think, in his ONLY tiebreak loss in Grand Chess Tour!] Try to find DING's weaknesses mannn... try to suss HIM out, okay - you know do some things like that Sagar, directly OR indirectly .... You can do a lot for India.....😉

100% agree gukesh is definitely not a favorite especially because we haven't seen what ding has been doing he might be doing just fine & just not using social media, meditating & practicing with engine. Even though he didn't play big tournaments he is 100% in it to win it. Infact thinking gukesh is fav would be too complacent to do. Ps - also why does Vishnu looks just like a bigger Arjun?😂

I understand in India its normal for family members or close friends to do this with youngsters, but please just do it somewhere in private, not at the airport while thousands of people are shaking hands, coughing and spreading the nastiest germs. Especially after a long trip and even longer tournament, kids' immune system gets seriously weakened by such strain on the body&mind.
