Aqara have updated their ever popular sensor to be one of their first Thread Based products that work with Matter. Which mean you can connect new Matter devices over WiFi and Thread as easily as a pair of headphones.

The first iteration of this sensor requires a maximum gap of 22mm according to the specs. In this version the gap can be way bigger? He sticks the 2 parts on 2 separate doors with at least a 5cm gap.
But this has a ridiculously large form factor

Would be interesting why it is bigger now (and why they choose the bigger battery) thread should be as efficient as Zigbee and I can’t complain about battery life with current Aqara sensors

It uses a CR123A battery which is bigger than a coin battery hence the size I guess.

How in the hell did you get it to work with them that far apart cuz mine wouldn't work that far apart.
