The whole cast of Paranorman is great, but Mitch is a highlight. He's so funny!

When it was revealed only towards the end that Mitch is gay was such a pleasant surprise. They didn't forced the "Gayness" and it only became one more detail of the character. A surprise,but surely a welcoming one

The reveal was a punchline, but the joke wasn't at the expense of him being gay, the joke was that Norman's sister had tried flirting with him the entire movie only to find out that she had no chance all along. These are the kinds of jokes I love! :)

The part where he says he's never used deltoids, and when he kicked the head like a football are my favorites, both are funny scenes that tell you all you need to know about him.
