Meet Jesca

In a world where progress and empowerment are championed, it is inspiring to meet women like Jesca, who are breaking barriers and making significant contributions to wildlife conservation. As one of the few female rangers specialising in trekking chimpanzees in Kibale National Park, Uganda. For over 15 years, she has navigated the challenges of her role with unwavering commitment, becoming a beacon of hope and a role model for women and girls in her community.
In this video, you'll follow Jesca and witness her expertise in tracking and observing the park's 120 habituated chimpanzees. Jesca's extensive knowledge and deep love for conservation have not only protected Kibale's rich biodiversity but also inspired a new generation of female rangers.
