My parents keep our house at 21 degrees, quite helpful for keeping snails - I only convinced them to let me get them by producing several care sheets that went over everything I would need to buy and do and proof I could afford all of it myself

How to carry a snail : style 1, put your hand in front of the snail, if it tries to get on then let it, if it doesn't wont then just show the viewers the enclosure, style 2, try to pick it up from the shell, if it is tightly on were it is leave it alone, and if it comes along with your hand you can now put it on your hands

We have created a really good bond he never hides from me hes always out and about doing things he eats like crazy. He lives in a 100Liter bio-active communal set up

Theyre adorable! You’ve been one of the main inspirations for me getting a Giant African Land Snail.. or well.. 3 haha. I’ve had them for about 3 months and they’re the weirdest but strangely.. endearing little guys :) P.S: Any idea how to get rid of fungus gnats? They are the sneakiest things and seem to get into my tank even if it’s all sealed up. I’ve tried vinegar traps and sticky paper is literally surrounding my tanks but they’re still in there!

Ah thank you so much! I hope you’re enjoying your little snot puppies 🥰 Predatory plants seemed to work for me! I still get the odd one or two being super annoying but not as bad as without a plant. Butterwort is good in particular but there’s a few different kinds you could also pick from 🙂 I don’t think Venus fly traps are very good for them though, that’s been one I’ve tried and not really had success with 😅

@@jadesjungle Thank you for the advice! I’ve never heard of a Butterwort plant but I’ll have a look online. I’ve also been told Cape Sundew works well so I might get one of those too. Venus flytraps really aren’t very good, as you said. If I recall correctly they only need an insect like once a month so not very efficient!

Albino and Jadatzi just describes the colourings, so it’s one or the other and not both (although most albinos are still referred to as Jadatzi). They’re the same snails just a different colour, so yes. So you would say for example, they’re Lissachatina fulica and one is normal coloured and one is jadatzi or rodatzi coloured etc.

😭😭😭 I had 3 pet snails and my sister kept dropping them. Then one of them broke a price of their she'll off and my sister started picking off the shell and I role her to stop and then she just said that the snails were hers then she brought them to the kitchen and tried to put pepper on them. Now one is shelless, on is "fine is guess" and I have no idea what happend to the baby one it was dropped then stopped coming out of its shell then I got so mad at her that I just took the snails and brought the to the garden for them to stay. I pray for the one with no shell and there rest.

They’re more like a culture like Isopods are, so in theory indefinite as long as new bloodlines are added so the genes don’t weaken. I ndividuals only a couple years or so? That’s off the top of my head but can’t imagine it’s a long time 🙂

I'm just starting to do some research on keeping snails. I have what I know be a very newbie question, but they are so cute, can you put your lips to the top of their head and give them tiny kisses? I kiss my dags and my cats. Just wondering if it is not recommended, or is it a try it with your particular snail? Those African giants are something special!

Hey Jade! I had a question. Do you know of any snails that can't reproduce by themselves? I love my Achatina Fulica, but the eggs... god the eggs... Sorry if you already answered this question, must have missed it then!

Hey! I actually need help with something else haha, my snails lay like 2 eggs and I don't know if they're test eggs and if I'm supposed to destroy them or if I should save them. Thank you for answering, didn't expect it tbh:)

@@ronijahsandberg3603 Yes they will be tester eggs 🙂 best destroyed to wait for the full clutch so you have a bigger selection of healthy genes
