    Eh, to be fair its the jury that decides if he is innocent or not the judge just does the sentencing and is required to punish according to the crime the jury convicted him of.

A week after his death, it was found that he was not the killer. Tough luck. I have forgotten his name but I will try to research and find a link if you're interested to see it for yourself.

    i disagree. a life sentence is worse than a death sentence imho. Life sentence, you have to suffer your entire life and the taxpayers have to pay to support you. Death sentence, boom its done much quicker than living your entire life in prison. What's the point in living if you just spend the rest of your life in basically a living hell?

    Thomas Ranalli we are not entirely sure on that stats. especially from exections from 30 years ago and beyond. 100 years ago if a group of angry mob heard a rumour and all said they saw you kill the person even if it aint true, it safe to assume you would be hanged. this was a common practice against freed black slaves in south. where you could simply accuse a black man for staring down a white women and it would be there word against him.

    @@eliasandwill2986 we know it's not funny and it's serious. But it's ok to make jokes about bad things happening, Like back in the 1930's/1940's people on the radio where cracking jokes about Hitler and putting posters of him in he's underwear to liven up the depressing time that was the 1900's. But there is a point where it can go to far, and that's what I don't agree with. And I don't know if the original comment falls under the to far jokes. But that's just my thoughts on this matter

There are innocents who are in prison but if they wanted 100% accuracy in courts there would be a lot more free felons since courts would have to prove every single thing and defendents would have a great advantage. Theres no easy fix to it

    Death row is a fantastic thing. To those who are actual inhuman, raping, murdering creatures with no remorse that is. You take a person's life away, you're taking that person's chance to do something he wanted to do. We all have a starting point, no one should be allowed to take that from us. When you decide to kill and kill and kill, just go to hell. You're a waste of a cell, and tax money

    I feel like the death penalty is a good thing. If someone takes an innocent persons life or does some other unspeakable act, they don't deserve to be on this earth. Most likely, they'll just kill again. If they're sentenced to life, most likely they're just going to cause trouble in prison and do even more violent things. All that said, I don't think we should go around all willy-nilly sentencing people to the death penalty. I do think we should only sentence people if there is undeniable evidence that they committed the crime.

    Happy Unicorn if you kill someone you should be in prison for a long time like 10-20 years but when you get out and you kill again on purpose then you should be executed he was charged and got a death penalty but he did t do anything that's why there should be always a second chance.

    What’s really sad is that he can’t find a Job nor a new opportunity. Why? Because when in prison, your permanent record holds on the crimes that you did or accused of, and it doesn’t have the setting where it tells if you’re innocent or not.

You open it and it’s police telling you to confess to a murder that you didn’t commit only to then later hear you will be sentenced to death by lethal injection. Here in the U.K. we banned the death penalty in 1965. That’s 52 years ago. Seriously America, it’s not the 60’s any more. Back then, it was acceptable. Now it’s a sick remanent of the past.

    I personally dont have a problem with someone who had murdered someone being killed but my problem lies with this: Does the judiciary have the right to sentence someone to death? I mean thats only a small problem my main beef with the death penalty is the fact that innocent people are executed, that alone makes the negatives outweigh the positives unless you think its ok for innocent people to me murdered by the state

  • @zacharywilson9596

    @zacharywilson9596

    I’d like to revisit this comment section by stating that here in the U.K., before the death penalty was banned, we had numerous landmark cases where the wrong person was tried and hanged. You see, not only can this happen, you must remember that many high-level crime-committers actually want to be rehabilitated. Instead of screaming “KILL THE MUDERER!!”, shouldn’t we be putting taxpayer money towards rehabilitation centres for murderers (and preventing any future ones)? Norway has adopted this type of system, and it is the 5th least violent nation on Earth. On the same list, the U.S. ranks 85th.

    Thats not what im saying im not some woosy toosy who doesnt like people being killed, i was just saying that the death penalty shouldnt exist because innocent people do get sentenced to death, there is still a chance for a retrial if they arent excecuted, yes it may be a waste of taxpayers money but its livable and its what we need to saccrifice for a fair judiciary.
