Yeah not cool to touch wildlife of any kind. Especially young ones. You can pass on diseases that would otherwise be harmless to us

Dereenaldo Ambun Apparently not. They think it’s a game, and now they’re suffering for it. Bat soup? Really? A bat has no meat on its body and obviously has no real nutritional value yet they eat that nasty shit anyways. It blows my mind.

Yeah, they are absolutely awesomely adorable. Thank you photographers for giving us 'city folks' such a treat. It's gotta be hard refraining from wanting to cuddle & pet them.

OMG, the cuteness makes my heart melt. Their little chirping and curiosity. I'd love to hold one and snuggle.

Quite smart of them really, they probably have observed enough to know that they are less likely to get picked off of a human than a tree from a bird of prey so a human is a somewhat safer sentry perch.

Wildlife Photography is a wonderful profession. Its so peaceful, requires patience, dedication, no alteration with nature, just mesmerising moments being captured.

I have a little 1 1/2 year old Dachshund that sits up like this for long periods much of the time, he is not begging but just seems comfortable in that 'pose'. Such a darling sight he makes even the worst days a little more light hearted and crankiest folks smile, he has been compared to a meercat several times! God bless you!

How......how can you resist cuddling, hugging, petting, and holding these baby meerkats?! I couldn't do it. I simply could not. There's just too much cute. Cute level 90000000000000.

Will, I've been following your emails for a year or two and love all the photos and write-ups you publish. This meerkat vid is an instant favorite. I will share this with my young kids who are sure to ooh and ahh! Thanks for posting!

At one point do we acknowledge that cuteness has become a survival trait when in proximity to humans? If you're cute, not only will most humans not threaten you, but they'll actively try to protect cute animals from dangerous ones.

Well if a male rhino or a female rhino with a baby spot you they will try to charge and kill you if your in their territory Violence towards other species isn't a one way street

Meercats remind me of prairie dogs. I live in Western Colorado around Prairie Dog towns. A nickname for them are American Meercats. Meercats look bigger on TV, I watched Meercats feeding once at a zoo, it was a neat experience.

Absolutely adorable, I just lowered my blood pressure by watching this video, I’m totally cured, I’m going to flush my meds down the toilet.

I wonder if teaching Meercats that humans aren't a threat might be bad down the road?

Ahhh, those baby meerkats are too cute.

This is the type of relationship I envision animals having with humans. A neutral arbitrator of sorts. I really think it's possible even with the top predators. Predators would just walk by us totally ignoring us and going for wild game instead. Maybe now and then ask for guidance. Like instead of getting territorial warfare we can help them efficiently find a better place with abundant resources to settle.
