No. Not the Medici. One Aristocrat. One in the historic line. Their common ground was not the family name. The Aristocracy came in and out of all walks of life. He was amongst the greatest among them ever. Good they made the show. Not much is recognized. Il Magnifico.

Imagine listening to this song while entering the Sistine Chapel, the Duomo, the Baptistery and other artistic masterpieces

I did it.

I only discovered this series only last week, I was done with it within a 10hours straight binge. I don't think it is underrated, it was just not well promoted and marketed because I would have moved hell and earth to get this series from the time it was aired. In varsity, I have studied the Medici family and their influence in Florence architecture, I have been to Florence, went inside the actual Medici home (one shot in the series), I retraced Cosimo's step as he explored Rome (especially the Pantheon he drew when he met Donatello),I fell in love with the city, I completely understand and 100% echo Cosimo's dream and love for his city. Top it all off, Richard Madden was superb at his portrayal of the man along with the WHOLE cast. Amazing.

What a blessing that must have been for you. Just finished the new - final - season 3 tonight. This series is one of the very best things I have ever seen. And the soundtrack has so much to do with my emotions. I cannot give it enough praise - everything was AMAZING.

I rewatched the series about 5 times now. Never gets old. When I’m traveling for work I just pop it up and watch

This soundtrack is beyond enchanting. I have played "Vision" so many times before doing something courageous. I have even played it for a friend in my car one night who was't having the best day and with one listen she became calm and full of hope again... music is LOVE, this soundtrack is MAGIC

Medici family promoted art in their time and now it's the art that is promoting their legacy. I wonder what could serve as a better example of 'As you sow, so shall you reap'

I REALLY don't get why they don't sell the soundtrack of this show! I'd buy it as quick as ever before!! Edit: I know it's fiiiinally out and available & I did buy it the very first day it got released ;)

Good point. I was initially concerned I was going to hate the show when I saw the "pretty" cast and heard the modern music style. Then I watched it and wow, so glad I did. Production, Direction, Casting all A's. The soundtrack is so well thought out and not cute, but perfect. That theme song music and lyrics, just haunting if you watch this series.

Yes! I loved season 3! Lorenzo giving into the darkness was the most intriguing plot line.

I dont say this often but this soundtrack is full of heart and a sense of bravery.

I cant believe I just noticed that the clouds are moving behind him

This is one of the most impressive tv series I have ever watched.....I've seen all episodes and wish to be more than 24 episodes... There are so many figures in Medici to be described especially such as Catherine de Medici

I've only heard about the existence of the show yesterday. I have watched three episodes and I freaking LOVE it. The characters are not necessarily the most original there are, the story is not always historically accurate, the villain is one-dimentional etc etc. Yes, I do understand criticism. But I still love it. It had me when Cosimo, played brilliantly by Richard Madden (who is one of my favourite actors by now), drew the Pantheon and the beautiful soundtrack played. It just fits his character so well. I never felt like a theme and a character faded into one another so brilliantly as it happens here. When I hear the main theme I see Cosimo, when I see Cosimo I hear the main theme. They are one for me and it is brilliant. The music describes the character perfectly, whether it is the intro version with lyrics or the ones without. It is a perfect symbiosis. This theme is just Italy. It is just Renaissance. It is so Florence. And it is a whole damn lot Cosimo. Thanks for this masterpiece of musical storytelling. Let's end with my personal favourite quote which just describes the power Cosimo holds, but also his artistical attitude, his dreams, his passion and his admiration for his wife: "I can say that I can change the world, but if you let me I can make another world for us."

The scene with Lorenzo and Guilio with the ring was a masterpiece

It is not underrated, it was just poorly marketed

This has given me a great desire to read ''The Prince'' by Machiavelli. I now understand the background of the time when he wrote it on an emotional level. The soundtrack gives me chills every time!

I started watching this series a week ago and I’m already finishing season 2, I work and have other responsibilities and still find time to watch it. The story, the characters, music, everything is perfect 😍👌🏻💕🙌🏻

I love the hole soundtrack...coming home open a bottle of wine ...sitting on my sofa and come down and relax

Came across this series on Netflix by accident and so glad I found it. Having been to Tuscany and Florence many times it is great to see that the production filmed on location. The legacy of the Medici family is very prevalent to this day. The series is very well done, the actors are fantastic and the music...magical.

This series brought out a lot of emotions and the soundtrack helped pull this emotion to the surface . When I was younger, more than 30 years I played in a full concert band. Listen to the the string instrument makes the hairs stand up all over my body. This was a spectacular series. It is even more compelling with the lyrics from the artist who sings.

This music makes everything better. There is alot of energy in this music.

Magnificent! One of the best series of the 21st century.

The Medici are legendary figures in history. I can’t say that about many historical figures. All I can say is that I would have loved to have lived in 15th century Florence.

Richard Madden was amazing in his portrayal of Cosimo, together with the cast and the music🌟❤️🌟❤️ I enjoyed it so much, I’m going to watch it again. I have been to Florence once, saw the Duomo,the Works of Michaelangelo, etc, and after seeing the series, I would love to go back and visit again.Absolutely Thankful for this show.

I could listen this for hours, I fell in love with this the first time I heard it. On a episode of the second season, on the 5th, at the end there was the music without anyone speaking, the first this i did was download the episode and cut that piece to be able to listen to this masterpiece everytime I wanted.

Absolutely, it is in my top 25 best soundtracks ever (films and shows).

This TV Show is amazing. Thinking about Renaissance Artists is awesome.

Loved this series so much! The soundtrack is amazing. After going to Firenze I have an even better appreciation for the Medici’s!!!!

As a art lover I also design and making cloth the first season gave me lots of instructions to create. I really hope Some MTV,VET companies came present more resources like this.people can not live without art without good vision. this is really makes people go better

Love this addicting soundtrack and the entire series! The acting, detailed sets, ebbs and flow of plot twists, and the beautiful music soundtrack complemented one another extremely well. The actors who played Cosimo and Lorenzo, in particular, did a great job wrestling with the premise of doing good while sometimes feeling they needed to do some bad to get there. I just finished watching the last episode of season 3. Admittedly I cried during the closing scene of Ep. 3 with Lorenzo and his family through to the tribute to the Medicis and the Renaissance art and artists the family promoted enriched by the reminders for me of the beautiful city Florence that I visited in "normal" times just two years ago. The beauty of the art they fostered was an incredible family legacy and a lasting tribute to God and his creation that certainly outlived the shortsightedness of the conservative religious fervor of the zealots of the time. I would be hopeful that a season 4 following Pero, his aunt, and the Medici popes would be able live up to what has preceded.

The show was poorly marketed and that’s why it flopped so I doubt there will be a 4th season

Pakistan needs such renaissance. We need to promote our culture, art and our heritage. Or else we'd vanish

I absolutely LOVE the series and this soundtrack and I have a few favorite renditions but when 6:55 kicked in I got so emotional my eyes watered up. Viva Italia!! 🇮🇹

I only started to watch this when i got back from Florence. My first visit , i was truly overwhelmed by the experiences, visits to cathedral, museums, the ulfizze , visits to Sienna , San Gaminano..alas my visit was coming to an end and return to my country, i hope to come back one day. Then i saw this Medici Magnifico by chance , on Netflix. It also advertised that series will be taken off by 30th April 2024. I am now on a binge watch . This really ties in with my visit to Florence recently. God bless Florentines and The Medici family for leaving us world over the legacy of the beauty of architecture, arts , history etc..

Those words came back to bite Giovanni in the best possible way; When Contessina is showing young Lorenzo the mural of Bethlehem, she tells him that himself, Piero, and Cosimo are depicted as the three Magi bearing gifts, and she points out that Cosimo, at the back of the line is "riding on your great-grandfather's mule". Giovanni's son, grandson, and great-grandson were immortalized on that mural as men of great holiness and wisdom. If you go by the mural's depiction, then the only "mule" in the family was Giovanni himself.
