I loved this show but what really disappointed me was the lack of love he showed for his wife. i know his first love was taken away from him but still his wife in this show was an amazing beautiful women. i would of cherished the shit out of her

His father did him a favor by marrying him off to this strong, intelligent, opinionated, educated, and beautiful woman that could go toe to toe on business and politics with any man and yet he resented her. He had issues with his parents, his father knew he was going to need a strong individual as a partner/wife. Plus Cosimo married up whereas Contessina married down she was born noble, and what the hell did Bianca have to offer, he says to his brother that Bianca was a "true woman" she wasn't even in the same league as Contessina. He was just a little boy having a hissy fit because he didn't have the balls to say no to his dad, typical male behavior. She should have run off with Ezio at least he loved her and they were childhood friends they understood each other. Even Marco Bello was better suited she could have been the brains and Marco the muscle in a business venture, and the makeup sex would have been great. With Cosimo, it was at least for him a duty, unlike the way he did Bianca and Magdalena/the other baby mama and those 2 looked alike maybe that's why he liked his slave girl. Being a woman in those days got you nowhere you had no rights she was stuck with him and his bad-boy behavior. Contessina should have visited the apothecary an acquired some hemlock before her first anniversary. He was an ungrateful little boy

When I first read these series of Medici I felt cultivated, (bas relief) the Spanish rule couldn't handle the Italians, Penelope the mother of Raphael kept wearing a white veil and it felt like she swung with different men to distract people. It wasn't until the priest who underneath, kept pressing his colleagues to do away with some of this pressure, which they did.
