Medford Praetorian G - Love That Vulcan Finish
Ойын-сауық
From www.medfordknife.com:
Elite Emperor's Guard
The Praetorian is a Marquee knife. It is a TON of blade in a relatively small package. This design incorporates aerospace materials, space age coatings, old school metallurgy, thoughtful design and hand craftsmanship that is rare but alive and strong in this modern world. This knife is a beautiful and savage balance of form and function that will drop your jaw. Awesome EDC knife.
All Praetorian variants come with a D2, NP3 coated tempered-glass breaking pommel. We have extensively tested these tips and you find them utterly dependable and 100% functional. No gimmick. No variations of this breaker, in material or form, will be done by MKT as it is meant to be an emergency lifesaving feature and not for ornamental appeal. If testing wear hand and arm protection as overexertion will ABSOLUTELY result in cuts to the hand and arm.
WARNING: Open in private the first time...you will want to stab something.

This knife does break in. I've got it half way there (three weeks). I've been on several iterations of your name but the explanations and advice is still excellent. I also love this particular Genesis along with his smaller brother.

Congrat's...looks sick!
That's a super sweet knife.!
Umnumzaan same stop open closed. Very nice carter!!!!!
Cool knife. My praetorian T is coming tomorrow
Awsomeness! Feel a bit jealous right now ;-)
Got mine two weeks ago took about 3 days to break in haven't stop carrying since and the quality is much better then striders... I would say its on par with my greyman
very nice!
It took about a week for my Praetorian G to break in and now its smooth like glass
Nice!
I demand a cardboard cutting test lol.
Sweet knife. Nothing wrong with a little thickness if you want to use it for tougher tasks.
Mystery hand steals bubble wrap.
Mine came shaving sharp, cardboard no problem. 12" x 1/2 tie raps were tough though...rolled the edge in a couple spots. All and all not bad.
Realy nice ! :-)
That's right, forgot about that
zt0300 has the double stop pin feature too
Nice.
It has "collector's centering" and "strong shoulders." ;)
Blade Brotherhood? I thought yesterday it was Blade Bros Before Hoes, or something like that...lol Love the knife btw.
9 and 1/2 months was my wait...so your luck was good I think!
i really love the big bulky, super heavy duty knives like that. just too expensive for me and i think it may be too heavy and big to carry, at least for my liking
Yes, that's me. Changed my channel name
1:51 - You had a Umnumzaan, lol.
Hamon is not a finish, it's what happens when you differentially heat treat the knife (e.g. the edge is a higher hardness than the spine). Vulcan finish is where Greg finish grinds/surfaces the knife before heat treat, then punctures the heat treat bag to create a unique look. Normally, you would finish the knife after heat treat and therefore would remove all the heat treat scale.
B e a utiful
What is vulcan finish. And what is hammone finish. Could you please enlighten me. Cause I got no idea.
They break in well. I hated the jimping on it way over done. Doesn't the umnuumzan use the thumb studs in that manner.
Actually me second order should be up any time now.
Oh LOL, just got this! Yeah, my kid insists on being in the room when I make videos.
Doesn't the whaleshark have a open/close stop pin?
love my praetorian, not a huge fan of the clip but oh well. Any knife pimpers able to make me a milled ti clip for this beast?
Dun dun duuuuuunnnnnn
how much do these weigh
I can not wait for my "Fat Daddy" from Medford. I went with a custom full Ti with a graphic finish on it kind of like the Ace of Spades one. Can't wait! still got 4 months. ugh
Is it for sale yet? ;)
The lockup looks a bit dangerous.
With the money that goes for I prefer a strider or hinderer
For a custom knife, I think the price is a much better value than Strider or Hinderer. Just look at the prices of Strider Customs/Hinderer Customs compared to Medfords, which are all customs. Much better quality control. Also, try calling Mick or Rick's cell phone at midnight and see how far that gets you.

Titaniacs why would u call them at midnight. a hinderer is 400 bucks and this is 600. A hinderer xm -18 I believe is also stronger than a medford in certain ways. not that praetorians aren't cool they definitely are.
Want another shot at a Direware?
Is that you carter sounds like carter xi
Everyone's definition varies, but I would not consider a Medfored a custom. I'ts produced in a shop by a bunch of hired employees. In my mind in order to be a custom, the knife needs to be worked on solely by the designer, not just sharpened. I would consider Medfords to be a production knife, but that's just my view on it.
I forgot. I don't have a zaan at the moment.
What up with all the name changes?
I'd prefere it on drop point, not keen on Tanto blades.
Just can't make up my mind....
LOL, that's right.
Pretty sure glass breaker is d2

Wow
Greg talks about finishes in a lot of his videos. This is probably the most descriptive on all three finishes he offers. Hope this helps. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lpx80bF8Xa6ZZ6g.html
Its not proprietary, you just need a spanner wrench. according to Medford.
LOL
For me thick beefy folders are yesterday's news No disrespect intended
