I'm one of your subscribers here and followers on IG 🥰 Surprisingly, what I'm most excited for in 2023 is just living the chance I've been given to continue being a med student for the next semester. It comes with a lot of doubts, of course, with all the catching up on grades and making time for new subjects, but just the fact that I recently found out I passed my first semester of second year and it has been the biggest relief and weight off my shoulder. Second year med is no joke, but I seriously feel like I've been given my second life (third na nga siguro 🥲) here! I've been following you since 2020 at an extremely low point in my life when I suddenly stopped wanting to become a doctor and didn't know where to go. I found your vlogs and after watching them (and Hospital Playlist!) it reignited the passion that died out and here I am squiggling my way through med school! I still remember I was trying to contact you since you've been working in Siargao and it was such a hustle and bustle schedule. But thankfully, you replied and answered the questions that I sent. I still remember I was telling you that I was an aspiring doctor too and that you are one of my biggest inspirations and that your videos motivates me a lot. Well...here I am, just finished my first semester in pre-med (Velez College taking up BS Medical Technology). Adjusting to the new environment and pressure is quite difficult. However, due to financial constraints, I wasn't able to enroll in a pre-med program this year. It feels so heavy knowing that my dream to serve was out of reach. Hello Dokkie Ian! I am really thankful and glad that I found your channel. Currently, I am a MedTech Intern and aspiring to be a doctor one day. Whenever I lost my motivation in studying since all our subject are very difficult, I just go watch your videos as my coping mechanism. Thank you for sharing your medjourney with us, if there is one video that I wouldn't forget is when you shared how you memorize everything in MedSchool. It helped me in my pre-med course a lot. Sometimes, I question myself if I really made the right decision in pursuing medicine, I hope it is for me. This 2023, I hope I will not lose my passion in pursuing my dream despite how difficult and impossible it may be. Also, I hope in the remaining sem of my internship, I will be able to interact with more patients in our hospital to remind me of what is God's plan for me. Hi Doc Ian! I have long been following your videos because it helped me navigate my way through med school. I especially appreciated the videos you made during board exam preparation. I took my exam during the pandemic, the default mood then was isolation, which made it so much more anxiety-filled and lonely. Yet your videos made my friends and I felt like you, our senior, was there as a solid karamay. In 2023, I am starting as a first year resident, under the OB GYN department and I have never felt this anxious. I’m still in disbelief that I will be training in the field I always dreamt of doing but I’m also overwhelmed by the responsibility and preparedness I may lack as I was a pandemic clerk/intern. The items in the giveaway would totally help me out boost my courage in going back to the hospital obligations come January, thinking my senior’s spirit is backing me up through them. I've been so busy and somewhat stressed with my studies pero ofc im still watching ur uploads kasi nagm-motivate and naginspire sakin 'to. Last month of the year na, medyo scary kasi ang bilis talaga ng panahon and di mo alam kung ano na naman ang mangyayari next year pero I have a lot of new goals that I wish ma accomplish ko this year 2023. One thing that I am excited about in 2023 is taking the NMAT! I am nervous but more excited because I want to enter med school badly...
