I did an oops, the Rockgrinder is a Transport, not Dedicated Transport; these very similar words are different things and I choose to blame GW for this. So the Rockgrinder can't Scout - instead, if you go first I recommend releasing your distraction genestealers and moving up into cover to charge on turn 2. If you go second, you should be in good charge range, assuming the enemy has moved up.

Tbh I think metamorphs in a Goliath truck are probably pretty good. Rerolls to wound on 10 handflamers… Especially with a Nexos, crossfire from a ridge runner etc. A potential use for the Kelermorph might be to put him with an acolyte unit in a truck the rerolls when he gets out would help his devastating wounds. Also don’t sleep on the overwatch with clearance incinerator, especially because you can use it with bgnt.

This is why I started playing the cult for! Shiny and chrome, driving to Valhalla, Mad Max style.

Revisiting after vehicle points decrease, love me my mechanized cult. Also love the idea of 3 kelermorphs in a rockgrinder, just three cowboys rootin tootin and shootin out of a light vehicle.

I believe both RAW and RAI, the truck can fire the charges once, then when they leave, the boys on the ground can throw more charges. They specifically word it as "the Bearer", rather than something like "each instance of this weapon can only be fired once per game"

Great Vid! the diagram for blipping in Bikers is particularly useful, though i'm thinking i'll be running 3 units of 5 rather than 10 man squads. Just need a few more trucks (got all the rockgrinders I'll ever need!!). Also..Thanks :)

Awesome video. I think especially in low points games a bit of vehicle action is totally called for as in many lists the anti tank is just infantry at those points levels, the GSC high maneuverability vehicles could run circles around that.

That hot potato bit is genius! I'm gonna model and animate that in Blender. It should be out before our glorious Star Gods arrive.

When I first started collecting genestealers in 9th, i loved the trucks so much I went and bought six. But I have been struggling what to do with them all. I like some of these idea so I will probably give them a try. The metamorph combo looks fun, not sure how I missed that.

I think you're onto a winner there with Maid Meadow Regions, could be huge!

My favorite part of maid meadow regions is how the panties raid feature allows raids for your maids!!

With firing deck the vehicle choses X embarked models and then choses one weapon for each model to shoot with. At the end of the shooting phase the weapons are no longer available to the vehicle, meaning it's nonlonger the holder of the weapon. Consequently, RAW, the next turn the process repeats anew and you can fire infinite times the one-shot weapons.

I've never played 40k but I think these look super cool. Cool tanks and armored vehicles yet it's a little different from the armies everyone else has. Marines and Guard armies seem like a dime a dozen while these are more unique. One of these days I'll pick up a minature and maybe this'll be the faction I go with.

Friends and I had a discussion, what if they can use the demo charges once in the truck n when they get out, they get to use them once again?

Hmm, I really like the look of the missles and satellite dish for the Achilles Ridgerunner, but I see the utility of the mining laser with the spotter

Rock Grinder is no dedicated transport is it? So it wont get scout from the unit embarked

I personally find that the dice likes to make that 5+ roll to bring back my Atalan Jackals if I yell out "Witness me!" Mad-Max style right before the last model dies. Annoying Superstition? Perhaps. But who am I to argue with getting more Atalan Jackals?

Not being able to shoot blast makes the flamer / seismic cannon the go to for the Rockgrinder for sure.

I know this is an old video so comment won't get seen but at some point since the making of this video the rule was changed so that a model instead has to be touching the marker instead. Or maybe Battlescribe just never updated

Quick Question. . . As you linked this video to the new combat patrol video and battleforce video. . . It seams double ridge runner and bike sniper would work. But can you only field three rock grinders or does becoming a dedicated transport allow four or five of them?😊

max 3 rockgrinders but you can have 6 of the Goliath Truck as that is a dedicated transport. The Rockgrinder is just a transport (which also means it can't scout...)

I use my rock grinder is a battering ram. Flamer blazing, demo charge blasting and grinder reducing anything in front of it into shredded cheese. And also I'm sad that you can't no longer use "trapped to explode" stratagem.

being able to blow up our own vehicles was fun, I expect when the codex comes around (2026 or sooner) that will be a stratagem [since the tyranids have one to always set off a monster's deadly demise it seems likely]

So I played a game with the jackals, and I took a grenade launcher. Because I fired that the rest of the squad doesn't get to shoot because they have pistols, and you can't shoot pistols and other weapons...so how does this work with the quad? I would assume that all can shoot but rules as written you can only shoot pistols or other weapons not both. Anyone else have this come up? And what to do with this squad?

not quite right. The pistols rule is per model, not per unit. So the other models can still fire their pistols while the grenade launcher fires on another model. The quad either fires the pistol or the big gun (always choose big gun unless in close combat)

I imagine, rules as intended, if the neophytes throw their demo charges from the firing deck of the truck, then they have thrown their charges and will not have them when they exit. Also I feel like by the logic of “the truck” throwing them, it would be almost like a hunter seeker missile as a fire once per game weapon- by which i mean, once the truck has fired a single demo charge via the firing deck, then it will have lost access to firing more demo charges via the firing deck since a model only gets to throw demo charges once as single shot weapons, thus forfeiting the ability to throw any more. Basically I cant think of any instances of single models having multiple copies/rounds of the same single shot weapon to allow that single model to have multiple uses better to just keep track of the demo charges owned by models in the truck and when they’re thrown, they’re thrown. After typing all that out Im sure this comment is confusing and poorly written makes no sense, but yeah keep up the good work w your videos!

The truck could probably only throw demo charges once yes, but it doesnt use up any of the people inside. Its the same as when you use hazardous weapons and the vehicle takes the damage. Though the piranha the tau have has 2 seeker missiles it can use, so i guess the truck could probable use as many demo charges as the people inside have.
