My guess is that he's had to get body damage fixed before and it was a nightmare that took forever (as is common with nearly any Tesla servicing) and this is his way of not having to do that again lol.

Hard day working on my car & cooling down before having to leave the house, this brightened my mood! Thank you!

I have literally done almost the exact thing with a socket down the cylinder except I dropped a nut down an intake port with an open valve. Nut went right into the cylinder. I even had shop towels sitting right there waiting to plug the ports as soon as I got the manifold pulled. Lifted the manifold off the engine and a nut rolled right off into said port. Tried for hours to get it out with a magnet and also a shop vac down the spark plug hole with no success. Ended up pulling the head.....damnit!

Had the same thing happen with a random spring when I did the spark plus on my 300zx no idea why it was on my engine like that but hey it gave me a chance to use an endoscope for the first time I got it out with a piece of bailing wire with a clump of duct tape on the end of it haha

@@zZWolfyZz you got lucky. I tried everything. Magnet, shop vac, compressed air through the intake valve while sticking the magnet down the spark plug hole....I'm just glad I saw it fall in. I could have easily completely missed it and the end result would have been catastrophic. I recall listening to music with my ear buds so I wouldn't have heard it drop. As unlucky as I was to have that nut fall in, thank God I at least saw it!

never did that but i did just recently break the input shaft on my dirtbike by overtightening the clutch basket nut... for those that dont know this meant i had to COMPLETELY tear out/down the motor to replace it. so a 10 minute clutch job turned in to a several hour full rebuild.

Ugh... the Bondo on the roof gives me flashbacks to my Firebird quarter panel. Except on that the Bondo was 3x thicker. My driveway was literally covered in that crap when I used a sanding disk on my grinder to get it all off. I still have the pics of the 2 big pieces that just pulled off the panel on either side of the crack. It was literally 15mm thick!

6:23. I know exactly what the HELL that is... some idiot put regular coolant in my car when he topped off my radiator after they put on my tires. Ignoring the fact that right on the housing it states only organic coolant. Had to flush out the system and still caused $1,700 in damage...

5:57 a rare kind of oil leakage!!!..... I once had to fix an oil leakage on a Volvo-diesel boat engine.... leaking from behind the flywheel (at the front end of the engine!) It looked like a crankshaft seal..... but that had been replaced.... twice! In a hidden corner I came across a greasy looking spot:a smal plug... threaded 8mm,made of alloy(!!) to blind an oil gallery..... salty water attacked it over the years and turned it into a sponge:many tiny holes..... mystery solved...... made a plug of an 8mm (steel...) bolt:problem fixed...

Is it a bad thing that I immediately recognized the thumbnail was a Zetec motor? Specific a 2.0L DOHC found in the 1998-2003 Ford Escort ZX2, the regular escort had a single jingle engine. The 2.0 Zetec is a good race engine. Reliable and they love to rev, and are capable of making a lot of power for not a lot of money

Murphys Auto Laws: If you drop an object, it will seek the absolute geographic center under the vehicle. If you drop a small socket or wrench into the engine bay, it will disappear, never to be seen again. If you place the oil drain pan where you know the oil will pour into it, it won't. If you feel you forgot something, you did and it will show up quick. Always tighten lug nuts twice with a torque wrench the second time, otherwise Murphy will have a wheel come loose. Never put a drain plug in finger tight and figure you will come back and torque it later, you won't. Always check the old oil filter for its gasket before you install the new filter. Have a piece of broom stick handy to hold open hoods and trunk hatches cause in the winter, cold air struts like to lose the ability to hold these up, your head or fingers will suffer.
