    I've gone thru 2 sacks of Lamonta malt. It ain't cheap but I can definitely tell the difference. I've even started splitting it 50/50 in a few batches to save some $$$ and still notice a difference. Great malt. Always enjoy your videos!

    I remember you asking some time ago what other topics to cover in a future video. I was about to write to you about this particular step of cleaning and then you launched this video. very nicely covered. One other topic I would personally be interested in is the chilling and whirlpooling part. more particularly keeping the whirlpool temperature stable (if so), set the pump speed and decrease the power towards transferring to the fermenter. of course, using a healthy portion of hops in the whirlpool :)

    Thanks for the video Bradley. Looking forward to hearing how the beer turns out. I really like the idea of Mecca Estate and other smaller family owned businesses - more than ever in these times they need our support. I'm going through my last bucket of PBW and they're no longer for sale here in Denmark. Either Danish of EU legislation (not quite sure, but can't source it) :(

    I'm pretty sure there's a couple other substitutes for PBW out there . It's really awesome dealing with a small company. Especially one that makes unique and exciting product.

    @@PortlyGentleman I could tell the difference just by tasting the malt from the bags. Its far more flavorful than any other malt I've tasted and worth the extra $. I'll be trying the Opal 44 in a Cascadian Dark Ale soon along with the Lamonta Pale Malt

    @@timheffernan3577 I definitely agree It just tastes clean even the wort taste a little crisper! I have a decent quantity of OPL 44 I'm very excited to play with it.

    What is your pump settings and angles of "adjustable dip tubes" to get the perfect whirlpool?

  • @PortlyGentleman

    @PortlyGentleman

    4 жыл бұрын

    I start at 100 and I gradually step down.. I typically transfer around 20 to 15% pump power. As far as the perfect angle it's hard to say.
