Meat Puppets - Too High to Die Demos - Full Album 1993

You may have already seen the THTD demos uploaded on my channel. That included Backwater and Evil love, both running slightly slow.
This video includes all of the THTD demos, this time running at the correct speed. Interestingly the song "Animal" can be found amongst these demos. It did not end on the final Album, but did end up as a B Side to the Backwater single and on the soundtrack album for the movie Love and a .45.
I've left my original upload of Backwater and Evil Love online as those copies, whilst running at an incorrect speed, don't have the tape hiss noticable in this complete copy.
These demos originally came from Meat Puppets' drummer Derrick Bostrom. The story goes that back in 1997 someone sent him a copy of Meat Puppets' 1992 Velvet Slego performance. The trader had recorded it from an Italian TV Broadcast and you can watch that full Broadcast here on KZread. In return for receiving the VHS tape, Derrick sent them an audio cassette of 39 Meat Puppets demos. The recipient then shared this demo around which is how I ended up with a copy.

This is so great it made my day! Animal is an incredible song, I had the soundtrack with it on it but this version is even better. All the other songs are great too...

Had a funny chat w/ Elmo Kirkwood after a Meat Puppets show in CA. I said "Son, the first time I ever saw yer dad & uncle play live, they were both wearing dresses and smashing two basses together in a joyful cacophony."

@@Kirreu sorry, I got confused-- I talked w/ Elmo after MPs/Soul Asylum in 2015/6. I saw Meat Puppets in Los Angeles open for RHCP in the late 1980s and MPs did the dress thing toward the end of their set. MPs were a lot nuttier in their early days than now.

@@balkanesequalk Oh yeah, I guess I should have been clear on which show I was referring to. They certainly were nutty on stage and in interviews back then.
