Great video, I haven't seen one yet as thorough as yours for the G4 with gaming. If its not too much trouble would you be able to test and post results with input lag and brightness levels in the HDR Vivid mode with 144hz? To my eyes on my 55" model it looks brighter when i switch it to that mode and you have more adjustments for color and a few other things however the input latency feels just a touch higher to me vs the game optimizer picture mode.

How do you pull off the mouse and keyboard from the couch? Do you have a lap desk setup? Could you share the product?

Had my 83 G4 turn up a week ago. Upgraded from the 65 C7. Its frigging huge. Have also educated myself on filmmaker/game mode (with warm temp) was the fool who used to play in cool/vivid. I have now seen that light, and understand why its superior.

Hey, why is your Delta e for colours so high?? Literally everywhere else they are under 3....

As I posted in his other video about the G4, my friend has a 100U8K. Gaming on that thing is spectacular especially considering it is brighter and has better color depth than the G4. Does it have better viewing angle and black levels and picture processing than the G4? No but it costs $3000 while the G4 is $6500 and the G4 is not $3500 better. My OLED will be replaced by an extra large LCD, the extra size plus its cost/performance ratio cannot be matched by OLED. On a side note, it’s very telling how fast Villaman dropped the UST to go back to a direct display. USTs cannot compare to a great OLED or LCD, they are inferior display devices.

Digital Trends said even though very critical of TVs he would choose a TCL 98" QM8 as his daily TV over even a Sony A95L 77" ( he had a A95L 65" in same room - said over a month or 2 went to biggest pretty good TV ) . There is no one TV to rule them all at the moment. People find it hard to downsize. If you go from a A80j 55" to 77 S95D you would be very happy for example. I don't have a movie room so 100" would be max for me . only a 55" at moment , though I could be happy with a 77" or 83/85" . I don't want a TV dominating my lounge . Plus the big ones with get a lot better in a year or 2 . As market shifts that way. Most people with budgets, kids to feed , mortgages etc just get a great bang for buck black friday like special , and don't over think it. Even us with more money and enthusiast must realise that in the OLED, QD--OLED, mini-LCD still have 10 years more improvement at least. Next years Samsung, LG, Sony will blow the 2024 away ( does not change anyone buying a G4 83' could still have a smile on their face for the next decade ) . Ie your enjoyment is not so much your TV , but your state of mind

I’d take size over absolute picture quality as well. That’s why I had a UST projector in the first place. That said, gaming performance is a huge factor for me, so a large TV beats a projector in that regard, for me. I’m definite not ruling out a larger mini LED TV tho!

G4 is an absolute beast.

All that's needed in that setup would be the Sony Theatre Bravia Quad speakers. They would not only sound good .but look good in your room

I would like to ask. If I have 144HZ but my fps above this it will not cause stuttering? What is a minimum FPS should higher than 144HZ if no stuttering in this case?

No it shouldn’t stutter. My frame rate in overwatch is over 300 fps, and it’s smooth as silk. The display will adapt to the lower frame rate, so the min shouldn’t really matter

G4 has better backs obviously and looks incredible in darker rooms. The Bravia 9 looks so much brighter, and performs better in brighter rooms. It's cheaper, and I believe colours are more accurate. People would gladly take the Sony over the LG

83” G4 doesn’t have the newest MLA 2.0, only 55,65,77” does.

VillaMan , I believe I'm going to make the purchase. Of the G4 83" I keep on trying to talk myself into doing the G3 at 83" Because of the $$$ 😅 but no MLA 🫣
