Hi, Great video. Thank you for the tutorial. I’m about to install a couple of 4 sided sails! I was wondering if I can keep them out all year around? If they are installed properly, would it be OK to keep them installed during the winter and windy days? Many thanks Gok
For stitching which thread use
how do you measure length over a large distance ?

I used a rope to do this. Assuming you already have mounts (such as pad eye) installed, you can tie a rope on one end and bring it to the other end. Warp the end with paper tape and mark it with a pen. Bring the rope in to the house and measure it.

We would typically recommend two people and a 100-300' tape measure.
Thank you so much for the illustrations,Is the pole height important? And if so, why?

If you are referring to height variation, yes. We generally apply a 1 to 5 ratio for height variation. 1' of vertical height difference for every 5' of horizontal travel. That is a loose guideline, but it tends to work pretty well in most situations. As to total height of poles, that would depend on what you are trying to cover/clear.

@@tenshon8627 I have a square shade 5 * 5M, I have placed 2 poles at 2.8M and 2 poles at 2.2M, is the difference satisfactory? Because I have a problem with the winds, it makes a belly in the center.
