I want to measure distance in mm, but every time I start new measurement, units of the measurement automatically goes back to inch-feet. It is very frustrating. I want it to set permanently to metric units, how can I set default Units to mm?

While we can set our page’s scale to “cm” or “mm”, along with “m” and “km”, this won’t change each subsequent measurement, and while we can also change each measurement’s units, this will be reverted for new measurements after the first one. This can be fixed by right-clicking on a measurement set to metric units and selecting “Set as Default”. This will need to be done for all measurements and only affects our shortcuts. We can also save these measurements to our Tool Chest and retain our metric units. If you want to exclusively measure in metric with all programs, including Bluebeam Revu, you’ll want to change your Windows settings by selecting the “Start” menu, selecting “Settings”, and searching for “Measure”. The setting labeled, “Change the way measurements are displayed” should pop up, and selecting this text will lead you to the “Region” dialogue. After selecting “Additional settings”, we can change the “Measurement system” from “U.S.” to “Metric”.

Can I angle the dimension line or is it stuck being perfectly parallel?

The "Length" tool can't be converted into an arc or "angled", but there are other tools that can do this: You can use the "Angle" tool to create two lines and automatically calculate their shared angle. You can also use the Polylength, Perimeter, and Area tools to initially create straight lines that are not perfectly horizontal or vertical and share 90 degree angles. Then, you can right-click on specific segments and select "Convert to Arc".

Every time I used the length tools under the measurement it always shows this "L=" and the number. I have searched hi and low but I cannot find how to remove the pesky "L=" mark.

We can remove the “L” caption by opening the “Properties” panel, selecting the Length markup (Or any other measurement), and clicking on “Edit” next to “Show Caption”. If you have more than one caption turned on, the “L” will appear in front of the length on-screen. To avoid this, you can either only show the “Length” or turn all captions off. The “L” is only shown in order to differentiate other caption data from each other.

@@DigitalDraftingSystems thanks for prompt response but unfortunately did not work. I tried the "show caption" before and just leaving the "Length" option checked but still shows the "L=" mark. If I unchecked the "Show Caption" nothing will appear. I'm working on Revu 20 edition.

By default, the Length tool shortcut only displays numbers and not “L=”, so we can only assume that you’re experiencing a visual bug. We suggest exporting your Profile and Tools if you customized them and resetting your program to factory settings.@@21JeffreyP
