If you listen closely to the beginning of the video when Gretchen is talking to Cady while Cady begins narrating, you can vaguely hear their conversation and she states that baggy clothing is against the rules. "You're wearing pink! *Undistinguishable*...a little too big. That's one rule. Anyway, you can't wear a tank top two days in row and you can only wear your hair in a ponytail once a week."

I love it when cady solves the 40% and none of them look at her awkwardly.

Cady made it sound complex by using Algebra to get the percentage. She can just express the fraction to decimal form 48 / 120 = 0.4 then simply express it to percentage by multiplying it by 100. Regina didn't understand it so she went to get some cheese fries instead.

Interesting how it’s Gretchen who explains the rules, not Regina. In fact it seems Regina doesn’t really care much for the rules. Just look at her Wednesday outfit. the pink is barely even noticeable and it’s not even the main focus of the ensemble. Really goes to show Regina doesn’t actually care about these rules. She sees herself as above everyone else.

I think she does care about them, what you mentioned is just that Regina is subtler because she’s cleverer and higher status than the other two. Gretchen and Karen wear a ton of pink because they’re just clumsier and more obvious. It’s the same reason why when the three are introduced in gym class, Regina is in a simple tshirt and shorts while Gretchen and Karen are wearing far skimpier and more revealing outfits. They’re overcompensating; Regina is confident enough to know she doesn’t need to try as hard, either with sexing up her gym outfit or overdoing it with the pink.

I rather do feel that the word: "art freaks" was actually utilised.

Plot hole: after this scene, Cady still wears jeans and sweatpants frequently. Those scenes can’t all take place on a Friday. And there’s no way Gretchen would be ok with it since she scorned Regina the one time she broke that rule.

Public schools distribute funding to different activities based on the popularity of the activity. Since very few people attend mathlete events, they probably get very little funding anyway. If the club only has male members, the board assumes that the activity is only interesting for boys, which would make them less interested in funding it and the funds would o to something with a more balanced set of members (art or mabye drama).
