    Recorded in NYC on 22 August 1944. Produced by the visionary Alfred Lion. Master# BN 1202. Released on 78rpm (BN 39). Released in 1952 on 10" LP as "Boogie Woogie Classics" (BLP 7018). Reissued in 1989 on CD as Mosaic MD2-103 by producer extraordinaire Michael Cuscuna.

    Absolutely brilliant, and gets better towards the middle and the end when the highest and lowest notes play together. Excellent syncopation near the end.

    Holy Underwear, Batman ! This is my first time hearing this gem ! Another boogie woogie masterpiece from the late great Mr Lewis ! Don't get much better than this ! And it's SO hard to sit still listening to it ! THANKS so much for sharing this rarity with us ! You've MADE my day & my week ! CHEERS !! :-)

    I used to play this years ago. Took some doing to get that bass to GROWL like that. I learned to play it straight off the original 78 by ear.

    put it on video....what is the secret to getting that bass down? That and 6 wheel chaser are 2 hard left hands to get sound like

    All these people give credit to Albert Ammons and Pete Johnson. Not to take away from those guys, I love their playing, but Meade Lux Lewis was the most diverse of the big three . No 2 songs of his sound alike.

    First Boogie I heard was an old Meade Lux 45. He's been top of my list ever since.
