Me playing Master Of Puppets as a project in my High School Psychology class. The project was picking 8 songs and linking them to memories you have, and what they remind you of from the past, essentially creating an album. This was one of the songs I picked it as it is my favorite song of all time & inspired me to pick up the guitar 8 years ago. Which is why I decided to play it in class. Thanks to Daniel Ross for the epic photography, and thanks for watching.

Thank you!! Also for what it’s worth this video is 3+ years old. Proud to say I think I could do this all downpicked by now, all musicians have room for expansion, though this is something I admit I could pull off 😅 A lot has happened in the past 3 years
And that is why I regret not learning guitar earlier...

On single notes it really doesn’t matter, on chords is where it really matters. As long as you can control the power of your picking between your up and down stroke then you’re golden.

@@justinabell5550 he is just giving him advice man, and he is telling the truth, it doesn’t sound as good alternate picked but he is still learning and just because he played a good song doesn’t mean he played it well. He will progress to be able to downpock the entire song and maybe he will upload a new cover. But don’t get annoyed at people giving truthful advice

just keep working man! soon enough you will be able to pick like james and shred like kirk! little tip, in the main solo, the squeal is made by doing a harmonic in the middle of the 5th and 6th frets and then going crazy on your floyd rose with it. Also, to help with the downpicking, try to anchour your elbow and let the only the wrist move. A lot easier. I can play full speed with few mistakes downpicking, and it still hurts, but you should be able to cope with the pain considering i am only 13 and you look older than me. Keep up the good work! I have a cover of the solo on my channel which you can use for context. It is isnt perfect, but no offense intended it is better than this recording. If you do intend on checking it out watch the reupload as it is a better recording a did a couple months later. Good luck!

This video was 3 years ago, within the 3 years I’ve improved in many aspects that I wanted to, but everyone has places they can improve and always will. I go to Berklee for guitar, and I practice everyday what I need to. I’m good with my play style.

@@jakesklodowski9321 its 3yers old i bet you play it all downstroke by now. im myself almost finish whit master on bass,but it still to hard all the way,when i play fingerstyle,but ill get it and i was working on creeping death but its so fast and the bassline is crasy so i gave up,not even the mainriff i could get right,but ill take it up again when i play master fuld song in fingerstyle

@@rev9737 for me (and I must be the only one) It's more difficult with alternate picking, my brain really can't process the alternate picking for this song so I always use downpicking (except for the solo in which I use alt picking)
