This car had no active suspension, no flappy paddle gearbox, no ABS, no traction control (sort of), no active aero, no hybrid power.. ;) And still, they only managed to get as competitive as this car around 2000 (in lap times..) ;) (10 years later fcs..!) It was just the sheer brutal V12 power, the wide tires, the heavy aero, and.. the hands of the master himself (and Berger also ofcourse) which why this thing was so bloody fast. Love it to the bone! +Helvecio Neto Yes, true, Spa was changed in 2000 (Raidillon), 2003 (bus stop). That's why I mentioned 10 years later. For the facts about the '92 season; check multiple pole times. Or even the quali lap at Suzuka or Monza compared between '91 and '92. Only track in 9'2 they were idd faster for pole was Monaco I think? The aero changed in 92, cars were a little heavier and stood higher from the ground, still same tire width. In '93 they ran smaller tires in width. At the end, it isn't all that important, good racing is what counts :)

Everybody, is feeling the same way.... We want those F1 cars back. Not some overcomputerized things like today. Berni it is time to go to the Bahama's with a beer. We need V12's and V10's back, no aid at all, and no turbo's and batteries. Then there is a little chance of F1 getting more popular. It is now ther more people ever are watching F1 (they say) but that's perhaps because more people in the world having television? And get the oldschool circuits back again. Would it be that diffcult to take the regulations from lat's say 1989-1991 and then let them make cars with actual modern materials but just looking and sounding like those days? I think it would be affordable to many many factories again, pure simple cars, speed enough, and lot of sound, that there needs te be pre-qaulifiing again, for filtering out the last off the 34 cars... (silently i dream on...)
@ninoschier9528

The cars of the early 90s were Computers on wheels. So they forbid it in 1994. As far as I know the rules were quite the same as the rules in the early 00s so the cars would look like the cars of 2004. But I think you are right the cars should be stronger and lighter. They weigh 702kg (wet + driver) . Back then the had 500 kg dry and empty. I think since Carbon Monocoques are used they are save. Nobody died since then. De Angelis died because of Carbonmonoxid, Ratzenberger broke his neck because they hadnt HANS back then, Senna died because of the Parts which went trough his head, Bianchi and Devillota died because of Head injuries so it was never the cars fault that they were injuried. And when the cars are that save cars can have 1100 + hp in my opinion. And I think they could race on the NürburgringNordschleife again because they are much safer than in 1976. I think it's Hard to Put down the costs in F1 because it's HighTech which has to be expansive.

Yep it took till 2001 in Suzuka for these cars to be surpassed. 1991/1992 was peak F1.
cleanest f1 car ever
Gerhard Berger's car number 2. The late 80's /early 90's were the best time of formula 1 racing. Real drivers in real cars. Nice look and great sound by the way. Dream-team Senna, Berger, McLaren and Honda.
Ayrton Senna do Brasil!!!🇧🇷 World Champion🏆🏆🏆 Honda🇯🇵 McLaren🏴
Best looking and sounding F1 car of all time.
Fantastic wonderful machine, that glorious V12 Honda music. I remember Ayrton screaming it down the Hangar straight at Silverstone into Stowe Corner and fast blipping the throttle through the apex. Fantastic memories. Thank you for making these bids available on KZread.
Este sempre será o trio mais foda da história da Fórmula 1: Motor V12 Honda, cores da Marlboro no carro e nosso eterno Ayrton Senna!

This car, the MP4/6 along with the Legendary MP4/4 are amongst the greatest F1 cars of all time... and Senna raced BOTH Cars to Championship victories. Love the sound of that V12.

The end of the era of the best F1 car ever
Best racecar ever IMO. In performance, aesthetics, sound, everything. Just beyond cool
Whenever I hear this type of engine I get the impression that cars from that time were faster than the current ones.
3:39 that throttle bliping makes me bristle.
best video on youtube
Now *THIS* is what F1 was all about!! I love when he really puts his foot in it and it starts breaking traction. That thing jumps like it was hit in the ass with a cattle prod!🤣 God, I LOVE the sound of a V-12!😍

What a beast
Now that is what an F1 car should sound like. No wheezy turbo's, Kers or batteries, just pure grunt
Glorious Sound!!! What a symphony ! By far the best sounding engine in history . Absolutely astonishing !

I could listen to that all day. Beautiful car, beautiful sound.
Such a powerful sound it screams beauty
Engine sounds depends not only on the number of cylinders, the fuel consumption also plays a huge role. The higher the fuel consumption, the louder sound of the engine. Green party every year toughens requirements for emissions of harmful substances. Engineers strive to reduce fuel consumption , the engine sound becomes quieter.

+Damon Frost Correct, these cars had 200 liters onboard in race trim for 305 km's. At the end, they where pretty clean for the performance they made in comparison with other type of race cars in that period :)
Just amazing man! Tears to my eyes remembering the great Ayrton Senna. And of course, that sound... LOVE IT!
Autos con una personalidad gigante, manejados por maestros fuera de serie. Lo hacen UNA LEYENDA.
This is a pure race car. Everything as it should be. Nothing artificial just pure, raw , racing machine. Thank you HONDA! And the collection hall is fabulous!😸
The reverb this engine has is spectacular
What is this strange thing I'm experiencing? Am I actually HEARING the engine?! Unheard of! All joking aside though, I know we have to keep up with the times but you can't help but feel sad that F1 is never going to sound as nice as this ever again.
Kid at my shop was watching the new f1 on his phone. told him to check out a real f1 car. your videos are awesome.
What a beast 😮😊
Quando la vedevo arrivare alla "rivazza" o alle "acque minerali" (Imola), arrivava la tigre. ❤❤piangevo di gioia..... E dopo 30 anni piango ancora. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Harvick is good too. Great car racer. Certainly nascar and f1 theyre different sports. Great work on this video. Watched f1 years ago.beautiful car and engine.
O ronco do motor desse carro é sensacional
Stupid spell checker meant Ayrton not Sutton, apologies.
I actually prefer this sound to the crazy high revs of the V10 days

The F1 cars they currently use could easily produce 1000hp+, easily. If a turbo from the 80's could produce 1450bhp then a modern day turbo should easily be able to match if not better that...!
